Re: Do I need 6 months passport grace

Perhaps best if you contact the British High Commission in Nicosia Comments I have read elsewhere refer to a minimum of 3 months left on your Passport. Are the rules different if you are a resident in Cyprus or a visitor to Cyprus? 'Passport validity requirements Your passport must be: issued less t...

Re: Flat tyres

Not all red plate cars are used by tourists.
EG Some companies use a lease hire system (some have the company logo on it but many do not) or people whose car is off the road temporarily use a hire car.

Re: It's a Jumbo Christmas!

My daughter visited Jumbo's when she came over in June and said she thought she was going to die of plastic poisoning!! I always find something to buy..... Indeed, it is the smell of plastic that is so hazardous to my health - and that's even if I'm near the entrance/exit and the doors at Jumbo open!

Re: It's a Jumbo Christmas!

(Curmudgeon on) thank you for that video, Dominic. I have never set foot inside a Jumbo and you have wonderfully confirmed exactly why I have always given it the cold shoulder. (Curmudgeon off) For health reasons (breathing problems) I have never managed to get inside the entrance doors so it was g...

Re: What do you expats/residents do at Christmas?

Just in case nobody has noticed, Christmas has a real meaning; it is to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It has nothing whatsoever to do with cards, presents, food, drink et cetera. It should not be confused with Saturnalia. By the way, to prevent misinterpretation, I am in no way religious. The origi...

Re: What do you expats/residents do at Christmas?

Christmas for me begins about 12-15th December when the decorations go up in my home. Every year in the week before Christmas Day I like to drive round Paphos in the evening and see the decorations at the roundabouts and navity scenes in each Municipality centre. During the day I will visit some of ...

Another suggestion is to visit the Friends Hospice shop in Polis which also hires out mobility aids. Tel. 99121775. A member of staff might have a contact for their suppliers. Again in Polis, near the roundabout by the Petrolina petrol station is CN Paraquip (next door to C&A Hotel Apartments). ...

Perhaps give Kath a phone call on 99 744936. She runs Verity Care which is located opposite Aspire School in Paphos.
Her site shows items that can be rented but she may have a contact where you can purchase a suitable item.

Yes, the road which passes the Bean Haus coffee shop at the top of the hill near the Kennedy Square traffic lights is completely dug up and yesterday there was a JCB working there. Looked as if that road might be closed for a few weeks. However, vehicles were using the road opposite Caffe Nero in bo...

An avid reader of Jack Reacher novels over many years they are rather predictable.
Casting Tom Cruise in the lead role in the two films further lessened my enthusiasm - I was expecting someone more like Clint Eastwood.

Its all very well fining drivers, but are people paying their fines? Indeed, that happened to a close friend a few years ...
