Re: Police ramp up checks for use of mobile phone by drivers

My neighbours son is a policeman, and he told me the other day, out of thirteen people who lost their lifes in road traffic accidents this year, nine of them were not wearing seat belts, no more to say. I think your neighbours son may not have his facts correct - On average there is one death per w...

BBC Program Extinction The Facts

May I suggest that people watch the BBC program Extinction The Facts

It was shown last night (Sunday) on BBC1 at UK 8pm and is on BBCiPlayer for the next 12 months.

Very thought provoking and depressing at the same time.

Re: Do as I say, not as I do!

If you look at the picture/photo shown in the newspaper article, it obviously is a stock picture and not one showing the incident that the report refers to. How do I know this? The picture is taken in bright sunlight so not at 8pm at night. The driver is showing a mobile phone rather than taking a b...

Re: Huge Explosion In Beirut

No, Trump was saying it was a bomb. Nobody else. If you take the word of Trump you really have fallen down the rabbit hole. Personally, I would believe first the authorities in Lebanon. Last time I looked Trump was the President of the USA and hence speaks for the USA! Personally I do not believe a...

Re: Huge Explosion In Beirut

Can you believe anyone in regard to this incident?

Lebanon are saying it is an accident, USA saying it is a bombing, Israel saying it is nothing to do with us!

Who do you believe seems to depend on ones politics and where your own sympathies lay, and will the truth ever come out?

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

In Limassol quite a few of the so called traffic Police cars are now fitted with ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) which checks whether the vehicle has the required legal documents at that time.

I have seen a number of them plying their trade at various spots waiting for customers.

Jim B wrote, Many countries do that, go the UAE the speed limit is 120KPH but you dont get a ticket until you reach 146KPH and Egypt is the same.

I suspect that is one of the main reasons why the serous injury/death rate is so high in those countries!

Because the LEGAL maximum permitted speed is 65mph ((100kpm) NOT 78mph (125kph)

Re: Cyprus has among least safe roads in Europe

In my humble opinion I feel that the Cypriot Police are lacking leadership and direction and are not sure what they should be targeting with regards to road policing and road safety. In Limassol the Police have been targeting SUP's paddling inside the marked area and fining them. I ask, whilst of co...

I wonder! I doubt that this reported instance is the first occasion that this type of theft of electricity from an unoccupied house has happened...
