Re: Why you need a dashcam...

I have posted this before but it is part of a video off my wife's Dash-Cam, a reminder about getting a dash cam, this chap a Cypriot was hit in the side of his Jeep by a blue truck still moving in front of those shops, he came straight out of a side road, you can see the truck in front of a shop tha...

Re: Why you need a dashcam...

The traffic cops said pay at any Bank within 15 days, and not before 12 hours on the offence day, I will try and pay at my bank just down the road..Failing that I will then try the Dept of Transport also just down the road.

Re: How can we watch the F1?

Supermodel.

Jan what was that face tattoo all about? or was it just very strange make up? Not a great F1 and I even managed to stay awake, the start though was good.

Re: Medical for Driving Licence Renewal

We went to a private MD (Dr Marla) the cost was not high, then onto the Citizens Advice centre to get a photo and pay for a new licence, done in a few hours. The medical was a joke to be honest. On licences does anyone know how long speeding spots (points) stay on your licence?, a year, two or three...

Re: Why you need a dashcam...

Certainly not the reason we moved to Cy for family. Twice a dash cam has saved the wife and myself a lot of money. Cyprus or not, I would also have one in the UK for sure, it makes sense to get one! no broomstick down my pants :) in fact loved (mostly) all of my years on the island, truthfully I hav...

Re: New vehicle registration law will favour early birds

The way I see it is on the total bill I save 20% road tax and 20% road tax on the other vehicle, all in all very happy if this comes to pass.

Ratty you can pay on line I believe.

Re: New vehicle registration law will favour early birds

Yes I read this, and it makes good sense, we always pay on the day so it could save us 40% with two small motors, hope they do make these changes.

Re: In the steps of Rick Stein - Long Weekends

Hudswell if only I could afford to move I would, but alas have no decent pension, but I thought it maybe a great location to live being as you like it so much and can afford the cost? It was all rather dusty 25 years ago, the food was as is here, lots of meat and oily, but no doubting it m...

I use a couple of Mag's so F1 is no problems, it was all on yesterday, Rugby Australia V England, Ladies Cricket against South Africa, both lost! Hamilton had a poor qualifying 5th I think, fell asleep before the end.

Re: Petrol or Diesel.Whats your choice?

For me "petrol" every time, had a couple of diesels 4x4s over my time here, hated both of them, at one time diesel engines motors were cheaper to run here on the island, but not now, also servicing I found far more expensive, if you want a large off road vehicle then maybe the only choice ...

Re: Best Free Antivirus

Am I the only person who uses Microsoft Security Essentials (Win 7)? Windows 7? yes you probably are the one of the few. :) Problems free now at a small cost (Kaspersky), well worth it even for Win7. if supported of course. Regarding a clean reinstall, we all should do this fairly regularly as it r...

Re: Cat bites

MM as I feed at least six strays now seven this morning, then maybe understand I will not be risking a bite from one of these cats, really we should not be encouraging them but like many ex-pats we feel sorry for them, as we did our thrown away rescue dog ten years ago, loved every minute of her lif...

Re: Cat bites

I feed six cats, five of them are local feral cats, they hiss sometimes but if one bites me I will take it over the road, permanently, so far none have tried.

Re: Why you need a dashcam...

I have just counted up just how many dash-cams over six years I have purchased from Amazon, all four had SD cards of varying sizes, apart from one I bought for a camera some time back is the only time I have purchased an SD card Dom. Some do not say they are included but all of them came card in box!

Re: Best Free Antivirus

The SOS did try the Alvera removal tool, alas it did not work, so had to have a full reinstall, it is not a bad idea to do this regularly, (as long as you back up those files) it does get rid of old junk files.

thanks

Re: Why you need a dashcam...

Dash-cams, I have had several over the years, mine all came with SD cards, all work in similar ways, easy to set up normally, but can be a little fiddly, I have three short edited films of crashes that have happened in front of me, I even offered the SD card as proof to a Cypriot chap who gladly use...
