I suggest you contact RCS, who have cleaned carpets and rugs for us for a number of years.
I have always found their work very satisfactory. They also clean settees, mattresses etc. Tel: 99 131044.

Re: State urged to rescue Yeroskipou site from development
I fear rescuing this site may be be a lost cause. Unfortunately in Govt generally and in Paphos particularly money talks louder than anything else... Though I don’t think that this site should be built on and if it is, development should be delayed until the archaeologists have finished their carefu...

Hi Dominic, thanks for the photos and story about St Anastasia. Very interesting, I will be visiting Zadar next summer and will plan to visit the cathedral named after her.

Re: Cypriot honey wins first prize at World Beekeeping Awards
I get my honey from Stavros in Chloraka too and can confirm that their honey, often different types according to the season is superb.. Stavros and his wife are very knowledgeable about bees and speak good English. But I don't know how they would react in the circumstances you describe. Would be wor...

Re: Recommendations for Exterior Emulsion/Coating
Sadie, I have just had my house painted externally. My builder got the paint from Nikkonikos. It was Artakryl. It’s made in Greece, is acrylic and is also elastic, but with a water base. The manufacturers guarantee it for 10 yrs. so it must be well suited to southern European countries. Now the work...

Re: Immigration today (Weds 23/10/19)
To be fair John,
MEU1’s are easier to get than the MEU 3 Permanent Residency., The MEU 1 yellow slip is a registration with Immigration and is for people who have lived here for less than 5 years. It can be issued while you are there.

Re: Immigration today (Weds 23/10/19)
Quite true Lloyd, For all the time that I have been here agents have been used by foreigners to help them with certain problems, usually involving various Govt depts. It is not illegal to use one to help sort things out for you. From experience, one realises that it makes sense to use one when faced...

Re: Immigration today (Weds 23/10/19)
Immigration Dept here have always been something of a law unto themselves! I can only tell all those who are complaining now that when we first arrived in Paphos in 1999 Immigration was in far worse small cramped offices on the first floor of another building in Paphos. We used to have to queue up o...

Re: €85m cost for emissions to be passed on to consumers
I wonder why EAC haven’t updated this page as the situation quoted regarding the power stations, the type of generators and the type of fuel oils used sound like the much quoted text of what was publicly quoted by the Cyprus Mail following the Mari explosion in 2011 and the rebuilding at Vasilikos.....

Re: 2021 opening planned for Neo Chorio theme park
What a pity turning productive farmland into a mainly concrete covered tourist site. If the theme park proves popular it certainly seems likely to spoil both the peacefulness and the natural beauty of this area. Why won’t the planners realise that not all tourists who choose to take their holiday he...

Re: What a load of old rubbish
Obviously the system works as it should in Amsterdam, but I wonder if the installation below was the same here as elsewhere and how efficiently these bins are maintained and emptied? If the smell from the below ground bins is as bad as the article said, no wonder the neighbours are complaining...

Hi Lloyd, Yes, I am also a patient with Dr Janet and I agree with everything that you said. It’s only that I now have difficulty getting to Nicosia these days. That was why I was trying to see the local gastroenterologist. I may have to try to find a way to get to Nicosia, once for a consultation, t...

I think that if you don’t have a current MEU1, maybe you need to get one first. If I was you with your doubts and maybe out of date MEU form, maybe a quick visit to Gwenny’s office might be your best bet. She will know definitively what forms you will need,

Re: Check out the Eco Art Show at the Shrine Caves!
We went past there on a walk last week. If you start at the Debenhams roundabout, take the road to Gereskipou. Turn right at the first traffic lights there, drive down the hill past the new Pakora King restaurant,on your left. When you reach 7 St Georges Taverna on your left, turn left into the narr...

Re: Dentists still out of Gesy
Lloyd, I wonder if we go to the same dentist? I have been to the same one for years and have had a lot of difficult dentistry in that time, crowns, extractions and also some dental implants. Compared with the costs of having such treatment done by a dentist in the UK, I am glad that I had it done he...

Well at least this project is apparently outside the Natura 2000 conservation area, though not far away.... I wonder how long it will be before there is a rash of ‘new and sustainable ‘ concrete development within that area? The name ‘Mythos’ seems to ring a bell. Does anyone remember the plan for s...

Re: Fabrica Hill Aerial walkway
The plan that I saw belonged to a construction supervisor and it was before construction actually started. At that stage they were mapping out the actual route that the construction of the walkway would take. The plan was pretty accurate as it turns out. The walkway doesn’t actually touch the sides ...

I’ve been with the same dentist here for years. I am happy to continue paying for my dental treatment. No complaints as its much cheaper here than the equivalent treatment would be in the UK.

Yes, basic spelling and punctuation creates a much better impression, even if that takes a minute or so longer! Anyway using spell checker makes correct spelling much easier,,
