Re: UK PM

The electorate doesn't vote for the pm because its not a presidential system. They may well have in mind who is leader of the party for which they're voting but that's not the same thing Les I agree with what you say but believe a vast number of the electorate do vote for the party leader. You only...

Georgian State Ballet.

Last night we drove to Limmasol to see the.Georgian State Ballet.

What an amazing night, an hour hour and a half of magical music and dance.
If you get the opportunity to go and see them it's well worth it.

4x4 vehicles do have a high centre of gravity and a tendency to roll even when clipping a kerb or taking a corner a little faster than recommended.
Too many inexperienced drivers driving vehicles that are beyond their capabilities.

I would guess it's to control money coming in from Russia and now the UK is a Third Country it's been caught up in the new rules, just down to leaving the EU. 😉

I would guess it's to clamp down on movement of money from Russia but they can't be seen to be favourable to one Third Country against another so all TCNs are caught up, just another downside to Brexit.

Re: Bank Transfers

Earlier this year I transferred a sum above €5,000 without any problems and prior to this recent transfer went to my bank informing them I was transferring a large sum from my bank in the UK. It appears you now have to provide documents confirming the funds are available and from a legal source.

The new road that goes down the side of Paphos Mall is also being extended as a bypass past Geroskipou as there are large roadworks on the back road from Konia to Geroskipou Town centre. There is also a lot of work going on for the new Polis Road at the back of Marathunta and West of the.Episkopi Ro...

Bank Transfers

Be aware that bank transfers without proof of funds in the UK have been reduced from €25,000 to €5,000. In April I transferred a very large sum to my bank in Paphos who then returned it to point of origin without contacting me. Unfortunately the Point of Origin Bank say they can't locate the transfe...

No. The one that is by McDonald's on the road down from the motorway, it is supposedly becoming the new Super Home Centre and a new Lidl plus several other shops.

That's a very bad junction and very difficult to come out of due to the number of vehicles badly parked outside the coffeeshop on the corner.

Re: Domicile in Cyprus

But I don’t believe you need citizenship to become domiciled in Cyprus. Regarding Cyprus Defence Tax, if you have been tax resident in Cyprus for at least 17 out of the last 20 years prior to the tax year in question, you will be deemed to be domiciled in Cyprus for the purposes of the SDC Law. €500 for a passport Is that right? It seems extortionate! 500e is for the whole application process http://www.moi.gov.cy/moi/crmd/crmd.nsf/All/F03BEB8DF3591BC1C2257D2C00453383?OpenDocument WHL No it's €500 for citizenship and €500 for the passport unless you're a spouse or a descendent and then it...

Re: Domicile in Cyprus

Going the legal route takes about 7 years, you can apply after 5 years residency and it then takes another 2 years to be processed for citizenship and €500 for a passport.. If you marry a local or are a descendent you can apply immediately and it takes about 2 years to be processed and €70 for a pas...
