Re: You couldn't make it up.

Alan What I can't get my head around is someone who comes from the same city appears to support a party thats intention was to create " managed decline" and basically destroy our community. On the other hand the EU pumped in billions of pounds into revitalising an area that was basically o...

Re: Debenhams

High streets are thing of the past. We've moved on to buying on line. Our family buys most of our wants and needs on line. Recently we bought a new Samsung induction hob from Amazon that was half the price of anything we could find in Paphos. Debenhams is overpriced and has a limited size range so w...

Re: British woman returns to Cyprus, arrested for failing to pay old hotel bill

I don't think this British woman will return to Cyprus in a hurry: 12 November 2018 A British woman, 23, was remanded for one day by the Paphos district court on Monday after she was arrested for allegedly using violence against a 42-year-old hotel restaurant waitress.According to police, the waitr...

Advice from the Telegraph on post Brexit relating to travelling in Europe. It does refer to pet passports and the like and the link opened for me. Jim https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/advice/driving-europe-brexit-everything-need-know/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_fb&fbclid=IwAR2_0_AkhNKBzjtJDnSjTI8irm_Qlu...

Re: Paphos: 50 drivers booked in one day

I think you have all missed the point. The checks were on the "SECONDARY ROAD NETWORK". I take this to mean they were, in this instance, looking for people on the less used lanes around the area. This won't include TOKR or the B6. They could catch that number on just the Marathunta to Kon...

Re: Paphos: 50 drivers booked in one day

I agree with Devil; considering the amount of cars you see that are speeding, drivers on mobiles, jumping the lights, not indicating and even going round the roundabouts the wrong way the totals are very low. Last year I saw the police pull in about ten cars for speeding on TOTK road in about five m...

Go to the troypoint website and you can download a programme called Typhoon which gives you all the latest movies and tv series. There's a step by step guide how to do it.

Re: Is the General Hospital Closing?

Jim My partner has just had a private knee replacement op at the Blue Cross which he had to pay for, but was able use use Gesy referrals for his pre op blood tests, Xrays and MRI. Maybe you can too. 😀😀 'LL. Thank you for the information. The Specialist at Evangelismos is going through the same proc...

Re: Brexit FAQs - from the Consulate

From the above, it would appear that I can apply for residency as a property owner even though I don’t permanently reside? That's how I read it. I remember reading an article that said under EU rules you could register at Immigration if your permanent place of abode was in that country and you work...

Re: Is the General Hospital Closing?

Why not just use any of the Gesy private labs for blood tests it is just the same price You're right Trev, anywhere operating under GESY can be used. The last time I went to Evangelismos was for a company medical which was prior to GESY and I was the only person in the queue at both X Ray and Blood...

Re: Remainers vow never to use Brexit coins

Jim B You state that you would prefer a P.M. with integrity, something you say Boris lacks. Given the choice at the last election, who would you have voted for ? Being honest Jackie, I would find it difficult to choose one out of the lot of them. I'm fortunate I couldn't. vote so didnt have to make...

Re: Is the General Hospital Closing?

The person who told us about the General works for the Council.
If you go to either X Ray or for Blood Tests at the Evangalismos they are mobbed and most of those there are using GESY.
I think it would be a good idea as the General is badly in need of a refurbishment.

Which is also what Remainers, particularly some on here, have been doing for over 3 years now. There's a difference between general and personal comments. I know how sensitive Leavers are so Im always careful how I write my posts. The Remainers comments over the last three years you're referring to...

Is the General Hospital Closing?

My Son in Law's Father who is a local was telling us the government is planning to close the General Hospital and use the Private Hospitals like Iasis, Evangelismos, Blue Coss, etc. to treat people under GESY. The Evangelismos is already being extended and have taken over part of the building next d...

Uncle D Not diminished, just bored, waiting for another dog with teeth rather than bare gums. ;) Now that made me laugh!! Re: Amazon Post Brexit

The EU want to do a deal; it is in their best interests to do so. Understandably however, they are not prepared to compromise on the guiding principles on which the EU trading partnership was founded and by which the remaining 26 member states abide, simply to suit a disgruntled member who has deci...
