Re: Account of having the Covid vaccination at Paphos Hospital
I was given a NHS Covid-19 vaccination record card. Its credit card sized and shows my name, date of birth, name of vaccine, batch number and date vaccine given. The details were hand written by the nurse. There is a space on the card to record the 2nd dose of the vaccine. Not sure if this is the on...

Re: Account of having the Covid vaccination at Paphos Hospital
I had just had my 1st Covid jab this morning - Oxford vaccine. I must say it was a very efficient process - well done Rutland. Took less than five minutes although they did say if you were driving it would be best to wait 15 minutes after in their waiting room. As usual UK TV & Papers trying to ...

Re: New Years Eve Drive Through Paphos - Now working!
Thanks Dominic. Really enjoyed this, wish we were back, although actually getting back is another matter. It's now five weeks (it seems like 5 months, time is dragging) we have been back in the UK. We felt much safer in Cyprus and in our view the lockdown in Cyprus is on balance preferable to the on...

Re: COVID TEST AT CYPRUS AIRPORT
I would not feel very comfortable at all about using the NHS testing facility when it is just for a holiday. It's not ethical and should only be used by those who genuinely have coronavirus symptoms.

This was super. Brilliant pictures and narrative. Sorry to say that in the last fifteen years we have only been up to Kato Pyrgos once but the blog has encouraged us to do it again. Well done. We usually only get as far as Pomos

Re: UK tourists
Unless there is any relaxation, e.g. moving into group A, then we are also seriously considering having two weeks in Crete or somewhere else in Greece and then flying onto Cyprus. We need to get to our house in Cyprus as we have lots of things to sort out including immigration.

Re: Coronavirus: UK moved into category B
Just been looking at the UK Foreign Office advice to people wanting to travel to Cyprus. It seems to suggest that if you have not been in UK for the past 14 days or more e.g. in Greece then you can travel onward to Cyprus without restriction. On the Cyprus Flight Pass there is declaration box to tic...

Fake Pilot Licences
Just been reading that in Pakistan, according to the Aviation Minister, 40% of their pilots have fake flying licences. In total there are 860 pilots registered but it transpires many did not even have proper flying experience and that 262 pilots even got someone else to sit their exams. Apparently t...

Another factor is that a good proportion won't even consider coming to Cyprus unless Pools are open

Bank of Cyprus - unknown payment
Just noticed that BoC have took a payment from my bank account on 31st March and 30th April: CARD MEMB.FEE PRORATA PDSPFO nnnnnn Card Memb. €5.00 nnnnnn is a number which is different on each payment. Before contacting BoC does anyone know what's it for? Are they now charging for the privilege of ha...

Re: Will we ever take cruises again? BBC article
We too have been on cruises over the years and loved the old Thompson Spirit especially on the cruises from Limassol. In 2018 we went on a Holland America cruise but it was far too crowded (and full of loud Americans!) . I'm not surprised to see on the news a couple of their ships have been quaranti...

Re: Heathrow's Third Runway Thrown into doubt.
Gatwick has a spare runway which could bought into use comparatively easily. They say it could be fully operational in less than four years and that they would finance this themselves and would not need any Government money - unlike Heathrow which would need loads of Government money, for example, t...

Re: The Stranger
We thought it was really good and kept you in suspense right until the last episode. The only thing, perhaps how the director planned it, was that there were many loose ends and other suspects who looked, to me, quite dodgy. Perhaps there will be some sort of sequel.

Re: Some Cyprus flights cancelled as BA pilots begin 48-hour strike
BA pilots, according to UK papers earn £167,000 per year plus allowances plus free accommodation plus they receive free or heavily discounted (90% discount) fares for themselves and family. I know they have responsible jobs with lots of training involved but so do many other trades/professions - and...

I agree, it was a super win for Leclerc and I was on the edge of the seat watching - but what about Vettel - beaten again by his teammate and errors in the race. Will Vettel retire at the end of the year?

Re: Prime minister
Surely whoever takes over has the same problem as Mrs May - too many MP's with their own views and self interest and who cannot collectively agree. Best of luck to whoever takes the job
