Photo Lady,
Incidentally, Cyprus isn't in the Schengen area. So visits to Cyprus are separate from visits to those countries.

Re: British citizens rights in EU/Cy after Brexit.
Its not clear yet. But it may be that we are shifting back to what happened to foreigners (with the exception of those from EU member states) which we faced when we bought a property in Cyprus in 1999. Whether the British will be allowed to buy cheaper houses than the figure of €300,000 hasn't been ...

Yes, agree with both your posts. The title deeds scandal should have been sorted out by now. The position about lifeguards for every swimming pool is diabolical ! There just aren’t enough fully qualified ones to go around. Most complexes have or should have the necessary life saving equipment situat...

So it seems that in addition to my usual annual flu jab, There'll be another one to prime my anti bodies against whatever the prevalent strain of Covid is which is around.

Re: Title deeds..A new twist.
I can add to this concerning health. Only retired British people with an S 1 were eligible to join the Cyprus health system. There was a reciprocal health agreement with the UK, who paid for it. We were issued with first a pink health card, then a white one. This allowed us to use the state hospital...

Re: Title deeds..A new twist.
We moved here in 1999, several years before Cyprus joined the EU. There was a dual tax agreement between UK and Cyprus. We had no problems buying land and building a house here. The main thing that I remember was that anything to do with Immigration was a pain. There was a different age group of Engl...

Re: Large ramp
Wait and see! I have noticed that an area in the car park has been blocked off in the nearest corner to the entrance to the Archaeological Park. At present a project is underway to remove and replace the external fencing to the archaeological site.
Maybe someone knows more?

Re: Next tranche of covid vaccinations?
Darrow, hopefully there will be more available vaccines sometime next week. I use 'In Cyprus' which gives all the latest local news. They posted the last arrival of vaccines which I saw the night before they were to be released. Usually the Gesy Vaccine Portal opens at 9am. You need to be quick.. Dee

Re: Koh-I-Noor Indian Takeaway
Great news! Koh-i-Noor, was always my favourite Indian! Delicious curries! I first went to this restaurant soon after we arrived in 2000! Then it was situated in town, before subsequently moving to ToTK Rd. Will certainly take up this offer.
Thanks for posting this.

That doesn't seem too bad to me... if fishermen can stay in the same position for hours..
The virus is less likely to spread outside in the open air .Also many of the elderly people are
either already vaccinated or about to be.

Would be interested to know what reasons people have for wanting a tattoo? I've never wanted one. Also is it difficult to have a tattoo removed at a later date?

Re: Health authorities re-evaluate covid-19 categorisation of countries
Of the category A countries, both New Zealand and Australia have had occasional scares when the few passengers who have been accepted ( usually returning nationals to their own country) or occasional visiting sports teams, have had to be quarantined in hotels as some have tested positive to Covid on...

Re: Replacing windows/doors with UPVC double glazing
I have a 30 yr old Cypriot built house with no damp course. My first winter here when the house had old single glazed windows and french windows was terrible. There were cold draughts as none of them fitted properly, I have had them replaced with double glazed sealed units.I chose those which have '...

I think that we could expect things to change after Brexit. Thank God Boris cobbled together a deal at the 11th hour... so at least we are protected by the 'withdrawal agreement'! Also the BHC did their best to persuade all Brits resident here to get their residency docs, be it MEU 1 or 3 (as approp...

9.30amin Chloraka, just had brief squally shower of rain. Very misty, murky and icy NW wind!
Sea looks grey and there are plenty of white capped waves and spray as they hit the rocky coastline. Can hardly see Coral Bay or Peyia today.

Re: Lidl - muddle
I wonder if there's been a change of manager at Lidl, Polis Rd branch? I noticed that in the last couple of months some of their fruit and sometimes veggies have been poor quality. Previously, these had been of better quality. I still go there, but only buy very selectively now. Sometimes prices at ...
