Re: Mayor of Paphos locks horns with Unesco over new Paphos jetty
Attracting cruise ships is a great idea, jobs, money coming into the economy etc etc, but as there is a cruise terminal, already at Limassol, only half an hour away, I cant see this ever happening in Paphos.

Thank you Dominic, enjoyed that, especially for people like me, who don't live in Paphos, great little church, one other thing, did your arms hurt, after that.

Re: Resturant Rip offs
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't 12% automatically added on the menu as service charge ? And then when you are served the bill you are been asked to add extra ?? I ask the waiter / waitress if they get the tip or it goes to management. If to management I decline putting it on the bill and leave t...

Re: Resturant Rip offs
The problem is they are not, bothered if you return or not, they know there's another batch of tourists coming by to be ripped off, The first thing we always do is find out where the locals eat, we were in Rome recently, so we asked where the locals eat out, we were sent to the old Jewish quarter, g...

Resturant Rip offs
Just been reading about the Rip off merchants in Mykonos, we were in Mykonos about two years ago, whilst on a cruise, went into a restaurant , as we fancied some fresh fish, the waitress gave us some menus, without prices on them, after asking her a couple of times for menus with prices, and being i...

Re: Ikea opening in Limassol?
Does anyone know if this is the system, going to Nicosia to order goods and then collecting them from Limassol?? Can goods not be ordered in Limassol from the catalogue and then collected there at a later date??? I think there will be some sort of showroom, where you can order stuff then pick it up.

Interesting that Theresa May was in tears at her own loss, but never cried for Grendel victims, the 4m kids under the poverty level, the handicapped who are worse off with cuts, the immigrants from the Caribbean she caused untold anguish to ... Tears of self-sympathy I think your being a bit unfair...

Re: Prime minister
I agree with Chaddy about not finding another Churchill or Thatcher for a leader. The UK seems to be devoid of any potential great statesmen with leadership potential and charisma at the present. It has changed so much as Chaddy said, maybe the ball has swung too far the other way. In embracing so ...

Re: Can things get worse?
Tony Blair was interviewed on LBC yesterday and actually said something sensible, that a second vote should be for No-Deal Brexit or for Remain. Whatever was voted for should now pass. He quoted NI and RoI referendums, where 2 referenda (referendii?) were held for the outcome, now that people knew ...
