Re: NHS cover on visit to UK
However, to actually get it, you may be asked to,provide a UK address, when your application has arrived in the UK. Since Brexit some procedures have changed.

Re: MUKW3 and Driving Licence Question
Anything to do with residency is done through an appointment with Paphos Immigration. Or for help with both these forms try Gwenny's Red Tape 26 945624. Its an agency which specialises In helping expats obtain all the Govt required forms and licences. It isn't free, but if you would like a bit of he...

You should be able to do this at through the Citizens Advice Centre. You will need to make an appointment. They should also tell you what documents you will need to bring with you.

Re: Excitement at Troodos peak?
Agree with you! I don't see any reason to go there. It must have been cold, slushy/muddy and probably slippery as well. Also too foggy to see any views.
Probably some don't bother to check the weather forecast!

Re: Troodos story
Hi Devil, I'm enjoying reading your story too! You are also a talented writer. Hope to hear more about what you encountered. Did you tell us what time (year) you arrived in Cyprus. I'm guessing it was late 50's or 60's. Cyprus was so different then, pleasantly undeveloped.

Re: Winter lets approx. 1 month?
Maybe it might be worth looking for a holiday let? Problem now is that there have been big influxes of people from countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Israel and others. This results in pressure on available housing stock and an increase in rental costs. Particularly in and around Paphos.

Re: Decision on energy bill hikes go down to the wire
Absolutely true! But the EAC has also been dragging its heels over the need to replace the old diesel generators at Dhekeleia which are burning heavy fuel oil which is causing massive air pollution. For this Cyprus is paying huge penalties to buy carbon credits. If these generators were replaced and...

I agree with you Firefly. Particularly when I'm trying to get through to a real live person in a UK.utility co! Eventually you have navigated all their automated options and you think at last you have got to the right section. Only to find out that you are speaking to a chat bot, who hasn't been pro...

Re: Paphos - Chloraka Coast Path - Part 3
I've walked the new section which joins the previous path from the Elysseum to the car park at Apollo Villas, Chloraka, This has joined Chloraka to Paphos -on foot. Its a pleasant walk and easy due to the new path. But be aware, the coastal path here has no shade from the sun, or shelter in rain. Al...

True. I always go there, they are much better stocked now with a wider range of foods and biscuits!
The top floor of the building has reduced lines of their clothes, while the basement stocks mens clothes and household linens, towels and duvets etc.

Re: Troodos story
When in the RAF here I was told that some people had done this as a challenge... When I first arrived in Cyprus in 1968, a friend drove us up to visit the RAF base there, I think that by then 'the new road' had been built, but he pointed out a very narrow, corkscrew-ing road on the other side of a r...

Re: Airlines,fact or myth?
I'm not sure about airlines raising prices if one is trying to compare prices by clicking on their website more than one before booking. I find that with Easyjet the price of a flight goes up. Also they state if others are booking the same flight as you. Such things as "only 2 seats left at thi...

Re: TOTK BUS DEPOT STILL NOT READY
Well done, Clive! Seems incredible that measurements of these big buses turning radius weren't taken into consideration when planning it. So did the man-in the pub know what authorities plan to do about that?
Alternatively, use could be made of it as a scooter riders training area...

Re: TOTK BUS DEPOT STILL NOT READY
The puzzling thing about the new bus station on ToTK Rd,is that it appears to be more or less finished, but deserted. Though as I prophesied earlier it seems popular as a car park. It seems as if bus drivers are contented to bunch up together at the back of the big car park close to the Leptos Headq...

There has been quite a lot of publicity about the Akamas which the Govt are keen to turn into a National Country Park. Construction of a lot of concrete roads which will encompass most of this area started then stopped due to claims that these new roads were too wide and not according to plan. It ma...
