I don't imagine that I'm alone in thinking that Cyprus will do as Cyprus pleases, EU or no EU.

Re: Ageism.
If you look at nature, animals tend to follow the senior members of their pack for protection and supply of food, as I see it, the human animal isn't any different. In adulthood I looked to my parents for advice and help, does it matter how old you are ? I think not.

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Granville I did not say that he should be hounded after and prosecuted, either he was blinded by the sun or not, we may never know. I know that road quite well, I have driven down it myself a quite few times, it's a long fairly straight road, and I do not remember it having any 'blind' spots. Yes it...

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Jim Seriously, made a 'mistake' ? That's one hell of a 'mistake', you're starting to sound like a politician. The main problem here I feel is that Philip will not pay for his 'mistake', in any way, and will feel free to make even more 'mistakes', maybe next time the victims won't be so lucky. I unde...

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Devil I'm well aware of that but the thread is 'driving in your dotage', which covers all issues. We don't know if he was wearing a seatbelt or not, if he was wearing sun glasses or not, what the weather was like at the time, how fast the Kia was moving, all that aside, the age factor is also an iss...

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Granville I quite agree with you we will have to wait and see the outcome, if indeed there is one. I take your point re. the speed of the Kia, but sorry, Philip can afford the best sun glasses the world has to offer, no excuse as I see it. Should he be driving, yes on private roads on Her Majesty's ...

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
It isn't just the 'no seat belt' issue here, Philip caused a serious accident, occupants of the Kia were injured, and Philip was at fault, sorry but 'a talking to' is rather tame in my book.

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Jacs There are roads on Sandringham Estate which are open to the public, it would depend on if it was an actual 'private' road, purely for the use of the Royal Family and their staff, or one used by the public to shop, or to park and walk around. Why would the police 'speak' to Philip if it was a pr...

Re: Driving in your “Dotage”
Jim Not often we agree, but here we do. Drivers who have been prosecuted for not wearing a seat belt must be annoyed at least. No excuse, but the peasants have to pay for their sins, whilst apparently some Royals can do as they please. No-one should be above the law, no-one. Two women were injured i...

Re: Where does May go from here...
Maybe we should have a second referendum:- Q. Leave with a deal/Leave with no deal. Delete as applicable. Jim, I'm sorry you had such a rough deal before we joined the EU, I was a young woman in the sixties, and I had a fabulous time. I had a good job, and owned my own home, unlike many young people...

Re: Where does May go from here...
Why oh why do some people assume that people who voted to leave, had no idea what they were voting for ? A lot of us remember what Britain was like before we joined the EU, it wasn't all poverty and mayhem. Our Government ruled us, not Europe, we didn't pay millions to Europe, we paid the people we ...

Re: Where does May go from here...
Another referendum would make a mockery of democracy, we all had the opportunity to vote, a lot of us did, end of.
What's all this 'peoples vote', if it wasn't people who voted the first time, who was it, little green men from Mars ?
