Re: Cleaning White Plastic Sun Loungers

Great idea about the Brillo pads. I will give it a try. The Milton sounds promising too but with half a dozen loungers I think I would need to buy it by the barrel

Re: Cleaning White Plastic Sun Loungers

I sometimes wonder... I tend to sit outside the Supermarket near the entrance and she comes to find me when she is done.

Re: Cleaning White Plastic Sun Loungers

Some interesting suggestions so far! I am tempted by the suggestion to just throw them in the pool but think I might get a few complaints from others in the complex who seem content to lie on increasingly filthy sunloungers! Sadly, I think they are beyond washing with bleach, and my jet wash is in Y...

Cleaning White Plastic Sun Loungers

Our complex has some white plastic sun loungers, but I use the colour white loosely as they have years of ground in dirt making them nearer to grey! As we will be here for quite a long visit we thought that we would try to clean them up a bit, Lots of advice on t'internet, but it is too hot to be ex...

Re: Just one example of false reporting by the media

Sadly, as regulating the online world is seemingly impossible, living with fake news seems to be something we are going to have to put up with. However, having just spent a month in the States, we do not have it nearly as bad as they do over there, and I hope that we never do. One News Channel/Newsp...

Water problem in Universal

I have just been told by the Water Board that a broken pipe is affecting our water supply.

Re: Coach Convoy escorted by Police

Well I inadvertently started quite a discussion with my original question, but it does not look as though we are any nearer to actually knowing what was going on!

Re: Solar Car Battery Charger

I called into Nicolaou's this morning and got just what I wanted for €65 so thanks very much for the tip Max. As a bonus, we never knew the shop existed before, and what a fantastic place it is. Seemed to stock every electrical component/gadget anyone would ever need. Thanks for all of the help and ...

Re: Coach Convoy escorted by Police

I saw them again yesterday on the A6 just outside Lemesos, heading that way. If they are tourists I have to wonder why they would go somewhere where Police escorts are needed, seemingly every day. Also, would the Police be prepared to keep providing the escorts?

Re: Solar Car Battery Charger

I have no mechanical knowledge so I am taking the advice of the dealer who sold me the car. He told me that the on board computer would continually reset itself for quite some time after a flat battery, and would not start whilst doing so. Right or wrong, I think a small financial investment to keep...

Re: Solar Car Battery Charger

Many thanks Max. I will call in to buy one tomorrow. PaphosAl I am trying to avoid my battery going flat as it will scramble the car's computer when it does so and is then recharged, so removing the battery is a non-starter I am afraid.

Looks as though the convoy gathered more coaches after being spotted on the motorway. May all become clear in time.

Re: Solar Car Battery Charger

Sorry for not replying to the recent posts but I have been off the internet for a couple of days. Jeba - that is an incredibly kind offer but we will not be back until after you need yours to be returned. If I can't find one locally, I think we may be okay this time as the car will only stand for ju...

Coach Convoy escorted by Police

In the Coral Bay area at about 1630 this afternoon there were 8 or 9 coaches with Police outriders front and rear. Anyone with any thoughts on what they were up to?

Re: Solar Car Battery Charger

Thank you all for the good advice. I should have explained in my first post that we are in Paphos at the moment, and there is insufficient time to get something ordered online before we return home soon. I will explore the suggestion made by Max to see whether I can get things sorted here before we ...

Solar Car Battery Charger

We divide our time between Paphos and the UK and when we go back to the UK I always worry that the battery will go flat in our car here, particularly if we are away for quite some time. Normally a flat battery would not be too much of a problem but, with the car we have, it needs to keep a bit of a ...

Re: Pyrite crystals from Memo Mine (Troodos)

I remember my father bringing a large piece home when we lived in Nicosia in the late 50's (he was in the Army and stationed here) and he had myself and my brother and sister believing it was gold! I have found crystals fascinating ever since.

Re: Chalk Paint

Hi. As a follow-up, we never managed to get any ready mixed chalk paint from either the Dulux shop or Orinos. The chap in Orinos was extremely pleasant, so we bought some matt emulsion from them and then went to Super Home and bought some mixer.
