Re: Green Cyprus

I was thinking the same as Les. The field opposite my house is beginning to look rather green now, whereas a week ago there was none. It's quite fascinating to see the difference in just a short space of time, within just a couple of days after the rain last Thursday the 1st shoots were appearing. L...

Re: SUPERHOME

Superhome (DIY home centre) and Era (department store) are 2 different shops owned by the same company. In Paphos they share a building and are linked, but in other cities they're separate.

Re: CovScan application mandatory for SafePass checks

Yes, the onus is on the company to be able to scan the code, but this affects the customer too as they must now have a digital QR code for the company to scan. Personally I've been using a photocopy of the vaccination card, which I keep in a pocket ready to show, which is much easier than fiddling w...

Re: Blue Velvet Sea and the Turtle Island at Aphrodite's Hidden Beach

There has been a cross as long as I've lived here (which is many years), but it fell down sometime in the 2019-2020 winter as it wasn't at the top last summer. But when you swam round the rock it was perched on the rocks below, at the back, so you couldn't see it from land. I guess someone found it ...

What a shame I didn't see this a couple of days ago, I drove past Xylofagou on Wednesday and could have stopped to admire it  It's not quite as good as the statue we have in Malta though, which stands proudly on a roundabout on a busy road... c7o37yfrST03MLcKdn4CxRClsGnG2ulqeqB_zpOWyaU 22222222...

Re: Cheap courier services

I use eshopwedrop without any problems (other than a delay with Germany earlier in the year), you just need to understand that they only ship once a week and that it then takes 2 weeks. If you use them for the UK, they sort out all the customs and duties for you, and they pay them online in advance ...

Re: Recommendations please for Online purchases to Cyprus

One of the last items we ordered from Amazon DE was actually shipped from the supplier in the UK. It hasn't arrived yet but it will be interesting to discover whether or not we pay extra charges. We've just ordered some supplements from DE. It says "despatched by Amazon" so we shall see i...

Re: Compulsory card payment change worries small businesses

For me, personally I’m more likely to spend in a local / smaller shop as its saves faffing around with cash when I can just pay with my watch. Ian I believe I can pay with my Fitbit, which would make life much easier, but I've never tried it (nor with my phone for that matter). Does using your watc...

This site is great for earplugs - https://www.snorestore.co.uk/

These https://www.snorestore.co.uk/acatalog/e ... tml#SID=16 are the best ones I've ever used - so easy to insert, comfortable, and effective too.

But of course it's a UK site so you'll have the import hassle now.

I remember heated debate on this forum about the merits of voting for or against Brexit. I wonder if those 'Brexiteers' are still amongst us, or if they retreated back to the UK. Dee Yes, they're notably less vocal in support of their perceived 'victory' aren't they? All the warnings they decried a...

Re: Coronavirus: Cabinet introduces Coronapass for access to venues after lockdown ends

Looking at the statistics, to me, what was the purpose of the last two weeks lockdown. There has been only marginal improvement. The new 'rules' with encourage people to have the vaccination and this can only be a good thing. Unfortunately there will be cases where the vaccination alternative is no...

Speaking of the webcams, it would be great if someone could clean the Latchi one. :) :) I'm presuming it's got a layer of salt on the lens which makes Latchi look like it's foggy.

It's still so nice and green up there, down here (Anarita) it's all dried up already - they've already made haybales out of the wheat field near my house.

I was wondering where to go for my Saturday outing, and your blog encouraged me to head up onto the hills to enjoy the greenery, so thank you :)
