Re: No new countries added to UK Green List, according to BBC.
Yes, Boris claimed that there was a new variant from Nepal, which might prove resistant to vaccines.. It crossed my mind too that he was adding to the project fear that keeps many people accepting his continual travel restrictions. But it can't be fair to the travel industry or to the British airlin...

Re: Going to far.
I wish that all airlines would do this, but no doubt unless it was adopted by all air lines, the law suits would start... I've been victimised by the airline with which we had booked our seats from Dubai to Larnaca. The flight was full and my seat turned out to be the middle one in a line of 3. Seat...

Re: Coronavirus: Masks to stay, amid mixed messages from officials
Yes, it's irritating having to wear masks when outside. It's also a little irritating that still nothing has been said about more than 2 people going for a walk together outside. This makes it difficult for walking groups which are usually sociable. Strictly speaking are they also confined to just 2...

Re: Excellent Cyprus online pharmacy
Not sure about this outfit. I can usually get what I need without going on line. Shops like Ikagora, Polis Rd and the Euro Shop in Gereskipou usually have a few pharmacy items. But I wouldn't buy prescription drugs from any where but a proper pharmacy. There are so many to choose from...

Yes, such deception is fine, provided that such drivers are not involved in any accidents or incidents when driving. Though one can speculate over how much interaction the authorities here will have with the DVLA as the Uk is no longer an EU country....

Re: International Driving Licence
I see that no one has answered the O.P's question. Yes, your wife should apply for an International Driving License. Have you tried to see if you can do it on line? Cyprus has already said that motorists need to have either a Cypriot Driving license or an International one in June. If you need help,...

Yes, a friend of mine went back to the UK last Wednesday. She has to stay in self isolation for 10 days not 8! There is a £10,000 fine if you are caught violating this.

Re: Attending funeral in the U.K.
Yes, BA from Larnaca-Heathrow. Twice weekly.
But also bare in mind that at present you will need a neg PCR test 72hrs before leaving Cyprus.
In the UK you have to self isolate for 10 days, plus have 2 further tests after 2 and then 8 days. All tests have to be purchased before leaving Cyprus.

I think that Mandy is right, the Irish friend should apply for an MEU1. You can't apply for an MEU3 until you have been resident here for 5years.

Re: Chlorine for pools
At my previous house we had a salt chlorinator fitted to a existing pool. I can only say that salt chlorination produces lovely soft water. So much kinder to your skin. (As well as to your swimming costume!) Above all no smell of chlorine! It was so much nicer to swim in. Since I had to sell the hou...

Very interesting Max. Thanks for sharing.
The interior wall paintings appear to be in good condition, despite it being roofless and exposed to the elements. Is it the shape of the ruined archway which suggests it was built in the Lusignan period?

Hi Lotus, You didn't mention how many weeks have elapsed since your partner had her first AZ jab. With this vaccine the 2nd jab is normally given between 8 - 12 weeks later. As others have said best check with your PD (private doctor). I hope that you can arrange this. Best wishes to your partner. H...

Lovely series of photos! Agree that seeing the moon through the wind farm seemed to lend an eerie atmosphere to the photos.

Hi Jim, If I can go to the UK this summer, I plan to bring back a few pots of the stuff for my store cupboard. But I think that if you keep an eye on the supermarkets shelves here some will reorder it. I know that Paps were placing an order. They told me that delays on things at the UK end post Brex...

Re: Health experts propose complete withdrawal of Astrazeneca from inoculation programme
Putting an age restriction on the AZ vaccine may be the best way forward. But since the other vaccines seem to be only available in smaller quantities this could slow down the vaccination of the younger people.
