Re: Despite ancient cat connections, Cyprus is swamped with strays
Something radical needs to be done to decrease the huge numbers of ferals. Maybe it should become illegal to feed large numbers of street cats, plus use of cat traps to remove some from the streets and other means. Although people will say that 'people should act responsibly'' it's pretty obvious th...

Re: BA Flights from UK to Cyprus
Yet, if you are traveling from Cyprus to the UK, even if you have had two jabs of a vaccine and are fully vaccinated, and have a Vaccination Certificate, you not only have to have a PCR test, within 72 hrs of departure, but also have to self quarantine for 10 days and undergo two additional PCR test...

Mine too! Isn't a chocolate teapot.... Its always excepted by the post office and almost anywhere else, used purely for its ID info. It saves carrying my passport on these occasions.
I also carry a copy of my MEU3.

Re: Time for another trip to immigration for expat Brits
I have my old ID card and I still find it useful even though it expired several years ago. If there is no rush to obtain the new card, it seems as if a lot of us will be doing nowt! (As they say in the north of the UK).Wonder why the powers that be wouldn't let this card be used for ID purposes.... ...

Re: Time for another trip to immigration for expat Brits
Whereas the 'old' MEU 3 had no expiry date ... The new card with its various short comings will also cost you €30. The new cards are being issued post the Brexit, ie from the 1st Jan 2021. But for those who have the old MEU forms they are still valid. The so called benefits of Brexit have not made l...

And as often happens any forecast in the paper is inaccurate for Paphos. That weather forecast is for the Nicosia area and the eastern part of the island. The weather around Paphos yesterday was lovely, nice breeze and hours of sunshine!

Re: Post coming from UK
My sister(who's resident in Australia) had a bright idea for my birthday. She chose something from the M&S on line catalogue of ladies clothes in the UK and ordered M&S (UK) to send it to me, via the M&S store in the Paphos Mall. Where it duly arrived by their usual courier and they rang...

Re: Lead Time for MEU interview
I didn't know about the appointments system at Immigration, it sounds like a very good idea. BTW, the time for MEU's seems to have passed due to Brexit. Anyone applying now will be applying for a UKW1 or 3 as apropriate. It's a new biometric card, but its not an ID card, you need your Passport. It c...

Just awful.
But why do people keep so much money and jewelry in their homes.
Maybe a safety deposit box at a bank would be a safer option?
Though in some cases, owners have had a strong room built into their home.
I feel very sorry for your friend.

10, according to the article in yesterdays paper. Also, it can't be used for ID purposes and it will carry your fingerprints as part of the biometric data.
Plus it will entail further visits to our lovely Immigration Dept offices.

Re: Will British Airways abandon Gatwick slots?
Yes, this was talked about last year. Its a fact that the longer the politicians wait before allowing airlines to fly normally again, the more strapped for cash the travel industry and especially airlines and airports will become. Consolidation will take place.

Re: Post coming from UK
I once waited 9 months for my cheque book sent by my English bank to arrive. By the time it finally turned up, I had done everything possible to try to establish where it was. Even track and trace couldn't pinpoint it after it left the UK. By the time it arrived I had cancelled it.

Re: Time for another trip to immigration for expat Brits
Thats the feeling that I had Trev, when I read that article in the Cyprus Sunday Mail. The silly fact is that even if you get one, it can't be used for ID purposes. Though ominously it will carry your finger prints... And I agree with your impression of the Immigration Offices. Overcrowded, dark and...

Jeba, You keep coming back with more questions. I also have private health insurance, plus I belong to Gesy. I think that Gesy is excellent. I have had very good treatment from this. If I wanted to go to a non Gesy reg hospital, doctor, or other health professional,I would seek approval from my priv...

Re: Notary Public.
Glad you found some one to certify your docs. But thats a much more expensive exercise using that route. I always used the public notary in the coffee shop mentioned, at the Govt Offices, whose charges are very modest. He has a very official looking Paphos Govt stamp. In fact, you can usually park i...

I guess that the Govt are doing the best they can to stop those people who test positive at the airport from entering the hotels etc and I think that they have a some sort of Rehab centre Larnaca way where these people are sent until they test negative,... I also think that I have seen in the media,...

Re: Free rapid antigen tests to end soon?
I haven't seen any mention of this in the English version of a Greek website so far. At the moment all those workers who work in offices, shops or places where they meet the public have to have a rapid antigen test every week. While some professions and people who haven't had their jabs yet need a r...

That was probably Zonari's former office. But it has moved at least a couple of years ago to a street that runs between the dual carrageway towards the motorway roundabout. The street is I think 2nd left, a wide road which runs to a roundabout at the other end. Zonari is on the left side about halfw...
