Re: UK FCDO No longer advising against all but essential travel to Cyprus!
Who knows? I just wish that those selfish young people who have no apparent interest in being vaccinated would change their minds. As a glance at a topic on In Cyprus shows, there are places in Limassol that young people flock to, where they expect to be admitted without evidence of a 'Safe pass', e...

Re: UK minister confident of further COVID-19 rule easing from July 19
Why though should British Nationals who live in Cyprus, but have received 2 vaccinations of the same vaccines as those used in theUK, and have vaccinations cards issued by GeSY, the Health Service Cyprus, be forced to self isolate for 10day?. Plus pay for 3 PCR tests, after arrival in the UK? Britis...

Re: Chaos with SafePass on first day of implementation
There will be many 'young people' who will have to have a rapid antigen test every 72hrs in order to be allowed to work. So although inconvenient, they can use their latest one as their safepass. As long as they have a neg result. It seems to be the only way to get more people to get vaccinated. Jud...

Oakland, returning to your original query.
Perhaps Citizens Advice would know, they are usually very helpful.
Otherwise, they can probably steer you in the right direction to someone who does.

Re: Street Vendors
Interesting point! You'd think that some sort of license would be required. But it seens to be something that some growers of fruit and veg do perhaps with their surplus, for example you sometimes see water melons being sold by the road side. There is sometimes a stand selling fruit and veg on the C...

Presumably, eight weeks between jabs is the norm now for the Astra Zennica vaccine. For the Pfizer Vaccine I thought that the 2nd dose was given after 3 weeks? I wouldn't blame anyone in the UK for being confused! It seems as if every time Boris opens his mouth with his latest idea to change things ...

Re: Chaos with SafePass on first day of implementation
Just returned from a nice Sunday lunch, a Meze. We all showed our safe passes aka Vaccination card on entry. No problemBut I had photographed my Vaccination card previously so I have this also. I photographed mine previously with my iPad camera, and then printed it out using my wireless printer.. Th...

Re: Chaos with SafePass on first day of implementation
All this shows some of the differences in attitude and respect for the law here, as compared with the UK. Right now Cyprus Govt is trying to reduce the high number of cases of the virus, as soon as possible. The present situation will impact badly on the much longed for tourists arriving to fill bed...

Re: Cost of COVID vaccine
Appointments for Covid Vaccines have to be done through GESY, the Cyprus equivalent of the NHS. For anyone not registered with a private doctor, who is part of GESY, it will be more difficult. Best to see a doctor first to enquire how to get an appointment for vaccination.

We're not all tourists! Some of us own property in UK. I haven't been able to live in my flat since Jan last year! As soon as British IT holiday makers stop traveling to Cyprus, most of the budget airlines stop flying here. Unfortunately, the only direct flight Paphos to Bristol is operated by EasyJ...

Thanks Cheshire Lad. That sounds a useful recommendation. The only thing that concerns me is that if you have work done on an iPhone by an 'unauthorised' person, does it affect the resale value of the iPhone?

Re: Good news for fully vaccinated English residents returning to UK
Yes, have just seen that with the daily number of cases here now nudging 1000, there's a strong possibility that Cyprus will find itself back in the Red zone. Maybe the promised flood of Brits packing the flights of the budget airlines to get here won't materialise after all. Why are some Government...

Re: U.K. Isolation
It seems a bit of an overkill, if arriving from Cyprus having completed 2 vaccinations with a recognised Covid 19 vaccine. I have my hospital vaccination card, plus my European vaccination passport. I will have had a PCR test 72 hrs before flight and am required to have booked 2 more in the UK on my...

Penny pinching comes to mind. If you want professional advice you have to pay for it. Otherwise look at the resale market.

You could sign up to the emails from Gov.UK, which are a useful and accurate guide to traveling by air. At present there is a lot of information available, but due to the current situation with Covid things can change very fast.

Yes, I agree. By moving the bones police investigators will have less to go on in terms of collecting evidence. Seems a strange thing for anyone to do.

Yes, think you're right. My sister lives in NSW, Australia. They are in full lockdown mode where she lives. Though to date they only have 30 cases. In fact she tells me that all the state's in Oz have individually closed their state borders to each other. The country is still very short of vaccine, ...

Very true. Has the President forgotten that? Though the Mari explosion occurred during the previous president, Demetris Christofias watch.
But over the last week there have also been a number of terrible fires.

Yes, the 18-30yr olds, who have not come forward in numbers to take up the Govt offer to be vaccinated. Plus a section of anti vaxers in the population. Coupled with a reluctance to wear masks and a need to socialise in big groups. Its very sad for the rest of us especially those of us who were plan...

No, why do you think that? I think that the health authorities here and the Cabinet have 'been guided by the rapidly increasing number of cases each day. The number yesterday was 525. I expect detailed data which is available to the Govt shows which ages these cases are coming from. The Govt push to...
