Re: After The Fires
In principle, I agree with you. However, if the individual is "very unhinged", then he should be committed to Athalassa rather than brought to justice.

Re: New agreement
I think the crux of the matter is mentioned in the article and consists of the Turkish control of half a dozen different self-created issues, which are dealt with in turn. By the time the Turkish population have been informed of the first issue, it has been superseded by the second and then by the t...

Re: New agreement
Worth a read. Perhaps, but to be taken with a fairly goodly pinch of salt, remembering where it is coming from. Turkey resents Israel's control of the Al Aqsa mosque in the heart of Jerusalem.

The quartet may be in good company in hell, but at least they are smartly dressed in clean white shirts

Reading some of the posts, I cannot help but recall Gray's words, "where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise."

I have been tempted to click on your link Devil . . . . But, I won't. Not for a millisecond! My link is not for clicking! It used to have a very good function but, with age, it loses its rampant power. Maybe a minute or two would be better than a millisecond! :-) :-) :-)

Re: Beirut bang and fallout
I heard yesterday in a shop a chap explaining that this rain and mucky air (dust) were from the explosion. You are listening to total and utter claptrap. In this part of the Mediterranean, it is normal for weather to pass from west towards the east. In any case, most of the fallout would be within ...

I see the midday forecast has reduced the UV danger from "extreme" to "very high" with an index of around 10.

Not even the one about the good ship Venus??? Is that the one where the Captain lost his fiddle  I think that song had something like 20 odd verses, each one more obscene than the previous one. I have tried to forget everything that I learned when I was in the army, so I cannot quote the song ...

Re: Sunburn?
A UV index of 10 is considered "very high". Over the next four days, my system records the potential UV index of 11, which is "extreme". Do not forget that the UV index is on a logarithmic scale, so that going up from 10 to 11 represents an increase of (I think) 3.16 times, which...

Please be aware that the levels of ultraviolet light are likely to be very high over the next few days. If you have a sensitive skin, use your UV block more carefully, especially between 10 AM and 5 PM. We may see some more bright red bodies coming from the beach.

I was taught some of the filthiest rhymes by my big brother when he came home from the Merchant Navy. I was twelve years old and, to this day, I find them shockingly hilarious. . . . . But, I would never repeat them now, not even if you pulled my fingernails out. 😣😣😣 Maggie Not even the one about t...
