Re: Boiling Cyprus set to cool down

Feels quite a bit better in Tala today. Breeze coming up from the sea rather than the hot dry wind from the hills we had the last few days. Humidity also considerably higher I think - that's at least how it feels.

State IPT

Normally around this time of the year I used to go and pay my IPT bill at the tax office in Paphos.

Am I right in remembering that this tax has been abolished and no further state IPT has to be paid?

Thx, A.

Re: Fish n Chips

Had cod and chips last night at Santa Marina at Coral Bay strip. Great as always. And very friendly service. Might not be as cheap as some of the places in Chloraka but the ambience of the location of course is quite different.

Re: Recycling goes door to door in Tala

My first lot of PET recycling has been collected this morning from in front of the house in Lofos, Tala. They are driving a dedicated little recycling lorry it seems :-)

Re: Challenges of an East Med pipeline (CYMail..)

The Eastern Med gas won't be left stranded even if the pipeline to Europe remains a distant dream due to Putin's interference and or other reasons. Egypt is a logical sink (for domestic usage) plus has spare lng capacity as well.

If you go into Armou village centre there's a sign saying similar to what Jeba is quoting. The village centre refurbishment was paid in part by the EU.

Seen plenty of them indeed.
Also the underpasses on the highway in Limassol were partially funded by the EU.

Re: What if the will of the people is now for a second referendum on Brexit?

So literally overnight, the UK will lose all trade with the EU countries. And Vice Versa. What a crock of twaddle. There will still be trade, both ways. It may be a little more expensive but I really cannot see any EU leader dictating to all those firms in the EU who trade with the UK that effectiv...

Diving company recommendation?

My teenager son recently completed his Padi certificate in the Persian Gulf in Qatar and now would like to have some dives here. Preferably Paphos area of the island. Has anyone got recommendations?

Thank you. A.

Re: Larnaca airport to paphos at night

A taxi will be around Euro 125 - we used www.iwantataxicyprus.com several times and can highly recommend. Alternatively, the cheapest one day one way car rental (smallest car) is around Euro 80 - if we have not much luggage we sometimes do that too.
