As a regular traveller between Paphos and Coral Bay / Agios Georgios in the early 'naugties' (2000 on), I was always fascinated by the progress made in the construction of this magnificent palace, with it's four detached houses in the front garden... At the time, this extravagent development was loc...

Well I'm off to the EU at 4.30am tomorrow morning for what may be my last annual baccy raid on Adinkerke, Belgium. If all goes well, daughter and I will back home in Luton at around 4:30pm, aided and assisted by my new Garmin nuvicam 6" Satnav, with built-in dashcam. With the sunken GBP £Sterli...

Yep, got it now, thanks. Had a couple of monsoons like that back in late Feb. With thunder sounding on this video track, and current temperatures, I'm surprised there weren't hailstones the size of golf balls as well...

There is a scrap yard just outside of Agarka, not too far away from you. East from the village centre, about 1-2 km

Do what the locals do and have a few sprigs of Basil spread on the table and hanging on your ears. Flies hate it and will buzz off elsewhere!

This all makes emminent sense now, diverting west bound planes out of LCA to keep the skies above RAF Akrotiri nice and clear for fighter/bomber ops.
That then begs the question, WHY? Wossgoingon?

Just a friendly warning to share when buying on Amazon UK (and I don't want to ruffle Dom's feathers, here!) On 11th May, I was online to Amazon and chose what I thought would be the perfect 7" Android rear view mirror Satnav, inc bluetooth hands-free, dashcam, rear cam, lifetime Europe maps. I...

It was saddening to learn from Dom's blog that Geoff's wife Molly passed away in the Hospice on 20 Feb this year..

Re: Fire at Polemi
During the current 32ºc weather that Paphos is enjoying, local winds can be very unpredictable indeed. Mostly due to thermals slowly drifting through. Imagine them as a near-invisible 'twister' starting at ground level and carrying warm air up into the skies above, in a fairly tight vertical twistin...

What size lens cap did you lose, Dom? And is it a simple cup that pushes over the lens (like an eyepiece on binoculars) or a more fancy squeeze and click/unclick jobbie like for an SLR camera? Years ago, I lost a 45mm eyepiece cap for my prized Swift 8x40 binoculars, when walking around Paphos harbo...
