Re: MEU1

Totally agree with you emgee. Having waited nearly two hours ourselves, just kept reminding myself how much money we were saving doing it ourselves!
To those of you who still have to attend interviews my advice would be - take a good book with you!

Re: MEU1

Lana M
While waiting at Immigration office for our MEU3 interview on 6th October, people coming in to arrange appointments were being given dates for mid-December so I’d get onto it asap.

It’s easy enough to do it yourself but you might need Gwennys help in view of the looming deadline.

Re: MEU3 query

We were there yesterday for our MEU3, our rental agreements were only signed by our landlord and ourselves and were accepted.

Take a good book with you, we waited nearly two hours!

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.

Thanks for the info mike and bromerzz. Our application was refused, which was why we rang their helpline, maybe it was because we were buying them for someone else? We ended up sending the money to our daughter to buy them. We already own premium bonds and Wouldn’t mind moving some money from our sa...

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.

We wanted to buy Premium bonds for our grandson online but were blocked. On speaking to their customer services was told you couldn’t purchase Bonds if you lived in Cyprus, but we are able to continue to hold the ones we already had and if we do win it is reinvested in more Bonds. So if you reinvest...

Re: Flights into Paphos today

I was initially expecting a text but after nothing heard by the second day of isolation I started to look for a phone number to ring. Thankfully the ‘receipt’ I was given at the payments desk was at the bottom of my handbag (could have so easily thrown it away) and that’s when I realized I could che...

Re: Flights into Paphos today

If you get tested at the airport on your return to Cyprus they do not text you. When you pay for the test you are given what looks like a receipt. This has a reference number and the web address where the results are posted. You put your ref number, passport number and Cyprus flight pass number onto...

Re: CyprusFlightPass

There is a helpline number which may be able to answer your question: “The Cyprus government has announced the launch of a help desk to assist travellers with queries regarding the use of the Cyprus Flight Pass. This service is accessible by telephone +(357) 2484 1234 and through the Cyprus Flight P...

Re: Surgeon for prolapsed disc

Yioula is right, need to keep moving regularly. I have suffered with a prolapsed disc for a number of years causing pins and needles in one foot and a slight loss of reflex. The surgeon I saw (UK) said op was a last resort because of the complications it could cause. I discovered Pilates a few years...

When we made our Cypriot wills a couple of years ago we were advised that our executors should complete probate on our UK estate first, then it couldn’t be included in probate over here.

Re: JET 2 CANCELLATION REFUNDS

Similar experience with Jet2. Was emailed to say flight cancelled and I could reschedule without paying an admin fee, take a credit voucher or if I wanted a full refund do nothing and they would contact me within one month. The following week the refund was in my bank account. Excellent customer ser...

Re: Escaped

Had a lovely meal last night at our local Italian restaurant in Mandria. All new procedures in place, they have printed out their menus and put them beneath the glass tabletops. Quite quiet in all the tavernas here but that could have been because it was a cool/windy evening. Personally we’re going ...

Re: UK Advised – Don’t Book your Summer Holiday

Trevnhil - my OH had booked flights only quite a while ago when the flight was really cheap, his rescheduled flights were more expensive and he had to pay the difference of about €100, only charge waived was the admin fee to change the booking. His reserved seats were honoured, he didn’t have luggag...

Re: SMS permission query

I don’t agree people are flouting the rules, more that the wording on the form is unclear, it states ‘for the following reasons’ which is plural therefore indicating you could do more than one thing per outing. Those who have to use SMS seem to be stuck with only one option though. The other week we...

If you’re going up to Limassol look out for a shop called Kleima, I was looking for soft furnishings last summer and was taken there so sorry can’t give you directions to it but they have a website https://kleimacyprus.com/en/contents/3185.html It’s on three floors and there were a number of outdoor...
