Re: Cyprus Visa for staying over 90 days.
Hardly surprising, and due to brexit. I suspect the 90 days refers to a total of 90 days in a rolling 12 months. Therefore those who spend over 3 months a year in Cyprus will need a visa. This might encourage those who refused to get a yellow slip to go for one after all (or whatever replaces it for...

Re: New Laptop
It depends what you want to do with it. I would look on the internet for factory refurbs. I got a very good PC tower for 85 pounds and it's as good as new. LHCYUK don't charge much to bring it over.

Re: Cyprus heads to Eurovision Final
Oh come on chaps, it's just a bit of harmless old nonsense. Kick back, put taste on hold, and enjoy. The Cyprus entry seems to be favourite to win at the moment. Pretty girl with computer enhanced voice, which seems to be all the rage at the moment. If she wins then Eurovision comes to Cyprus next y...

Re: Russia and Cyprus foreign ministers call for abolition of guarantee system
JK, if you really believe that the Russian State are interested in a "solution" to the Cypriot issue then I am with you...but we both know ...they are not..they see Cyprus on the Stratigic level..a base in the Med...the relationship is based on a perceived need of aid...Cyprus chose the E...

Re: Russia and Cyprus foreign ministers call for abolition of guarantee system
Just so you have some data to use in your arguments, this is the number of vetoes in the period 1945 to 2014. USA - 77 USSR/Russia - 79 China - 10 UK - 32 France - 18 Going back to the topic, The West haven't managed to move the two Cypriot sides to a solution, so perhaps Russia can do better. The h...

Re: They just dont want our money
You may find that the answer to all your woes can be found in the Chanel isles and the isle of Man. I have a current account with a British high street bank through their international operation in Guernsey. All their customers (other than CI locals) are ex pats so they are used to dealing with us. ...

Re: MEU3.Is it nessesary??
I wouldn't rely on the BHC for anything. The new process, whatever it will be, will be established by the EU and Cyprus will have to implement it the same as other EU countries. Having a MEU1 or MEU3 doesn't affect SDC. The utilities will provide summary statements covering 5 years on request. There...

There might be lots of talk, but the word missing from the talk is "compromise".

Re: Airlines warned over danger from possible airstrikes on Syria
We should keep out of it. It's nothing to do with us, or the USA for that matter. At the end of it all Assad will remain in power (he is still seen as the legitimate government by all countries) and the only thing that will have changed is that a fair part of his country and people will have been de...

I think a more accurate title would be The People Whose PR You Most Admire. Lets face it, how many of us have ever met any of these.
Glad to see Wonder Woman on the list. Sums it up really.

Re: MEU3.Is it nessesary??
I have had a MEU3 for some time. Putting aside the High Commissioner's advice to get one (I still maintain the High Commission is a waste of taxpayer's money), there are some benefits that may apply to you at some time in the future. Firstly, the MEU1 is just a residency certificate, nothing more. I...

Re: Purpose Built retirement village and care home in Paphos
The main reason that such facilities are thin on the ground here is the use of Domestic Workers from overseas (previously called Housemaids), who live in full time and generally provide good care for those needing help with day to day living. They can't provide nursing care of course. If people are ...

Re: Rico's beach area this afternoon
I've known Ricos place for over 16 years. It has always been down at heel, lacking basic facilities, and offering rather surly service. But Brits like it. Why? Because it reflected that nostalgic view of Cyprus that they have, based on reality or otherwise. A place that they would never tolerate if ...

Re: British Passports
Quite right Devil. What matters is what the passport gives you, not what colour or style it is. We could have had blue ones at any time, as the EU doesn't require burgundy. Just wait until the blue brigade realise it won't be like the old blue ones with cardboard covers. It will just be a blue versi...
