Re: Covpass … Green Pass … app … wallet … SafePass …
Yes done ours today as we travel in Europe quite a bit. Download Covpass Cyprus on the Playstore. Don’t use scan. Go back to https://www.eudcc.gov.cy/ to generate a new certificate then instead of emailing or downloading, scroll down and there is an option to Import to Covpass. Click that and it wil...

Re: Job vacancies - conditions
I don’t think it will be too long before a minimum wage is established in Cyprus. As the laws states as posted above, it currently only affects a few categories of employees. On the first point, anyone living here with an MEU or MUK document is protected by the withdrawal agreement and has full enti...

Re: Time for another trip to immigration for expat Brits
We shall not be purchasing this card. At €30.00 it is a rip off and last only 10 years. Our MEU-3 lasts forever. We have photo copies that we carry in the wallet/purse. I don’t believe it expires, the card expires just like a passport or driving licence. Our Cypriot ID’s expire every 10 years and w...

Visited the bridge and gorge today. We had great fun. Very grateful to Dominic for clearing the path down beforehand. Only one scratch! The glade area was full of electric blue dragonflies (or damselflies). Beautiful. Thanks again for the blog.

Re: How To Change Date On Cyprus Flight Pass
Hi Jackie
If it is more than 48 hours ahead then it won’t let you enter the flight information anyway so may just be defaulting to today’s date.

Hi Mandy
Yes as an Irish National he will need to to make his appointment at immigration (take passport) for his MEU1. They should give him details of what he will need to take on the day of the appointment.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
I am a committed Eurovision fan and very much enjoyed watching all the songs. Some lovely ballads too. I just enjoy it as a big fun event. I really don’t understand why people would refuse to watch it ‘because of the politics’. Isn’t it about the songs, the fun and the taking part? Britain’s song wa...

Re: Help re: Peyia Municipality- plans to charge residents for clearing their land!
Tala council also clear the land and bill the owner if it poses a fire risk. Are you sure it is council owned and not the designated green area of your development (it which case it would be the owners’ responsibility to clear or pay). It seems bizarre that he would say you have to pay for green are...

Re: Cyprus Winter Fuel Payment
Aren’t we talking about the Cyprus Winter fuel payment? If so, it’s got nothing to do with UK. The Cypriot Government make this payment annually to Cypriots and EU citizens. Sadly this means that any Brits in a qualifying high altitude area will no longer get it along with the Russians, Chinese and ...

I have been informed that this system is the highest in tech. Every single parking space will be identified by individual sensors.

Re: Tourists will not need to send SMSs
The reality is that the government have to balance the need for continuing restriction on movement to stop the spread of the virus with the need for tourists to kickstart the economy and to get people back to work to support their families. I have absolutely no problem with a 2 tier system but I am ...

Re: Tourists as of today 4th April 2021
HIC News in the UK papers tonight is that the government proposes handing out free rapid testing testing kits to everyone, delivered F.O.C. to the house, so that adults can test themselves twice a week. Now that is a positive and sensible way to help prevent the spread of the virus and kudos to the ...

No. They are for travel within Europe as a UK citizen and wouldn’t now apply. If you are working here and registered to GESY (and not an S1 holder) then you can apply for the Cyprus issued EHIC which will cover you for emergency treatment in Europe but not unfortunately in UK.

Re: YELLOW SLIP - DIP IN UK AND BACK
The answer is yes if you fly both ends. You can travel to the UK but must adhere to the current regs. This means having a negative test before you fly and then purchasing (before you fly) the 2 test pack which requires you to complete a test on days 2 and 8. You will be required to self isolate at h...
