Re: URGENT CHLORAKAS TAP WATER IS POLLUTED
Unless there is an official announcement that tap water is unsafe, then it can be used for most purposes, even with a slight precipitate. In this country, with very few publicised exceptions, tap water is safe to drink, even when it looks or tastes unusual. Much of the tap water today is over-steril...

Re: Shocking standards of Journalism
Obviously NOT proof read :o One of the latter-day journalists who use a spellchecker and have an error in their vocabulary. A member of the old guard would never have made this mistake even once, let alone twice. Those who use a spellchecker should carefully monitor its results; some of its ewwors ...

Re: This summer "nothing out of the ordinary", says met office
Just come back from a walk to the village center to get my mail about 150 yard each way. Got in the house and the first thing I did was take my cloths off as they where sticking to me. Then towel my self down three times and I am still dripping wet. And it's 37 in the shade in the court yard....

Not quite! It assumes that there are no transmission or phase losses, which could amount to 10 to 15%.cyprusmax47 wrote: βFri Aug 05, 2022 8:37 am So 270 Euro less money this year EAC would have to pay for its emissions to EU.

Re: This summer "nothing out of the ordinary", says met office
It may not be 'Anything out of the ordinary' but it has certainly been hot up to now.. In terms of temperature, I agree with the Met office and, in fact, I think this has been one of the coolest summers since we came out here to Cyprus. The max temperature here, in Mosfiloti, has been 38.3Β° C, a co...

These figures showing the performance of a solar pool pump, by the way! Max I'm sorry, Max, I do not understand your chart. You cite the daily output in m3. A cubic metre is a unit of physical volume and not a unit of power or energy. To my way of thinking, there is no way that one can be converted...

Re: Photovoltaic systems in Cyprus become extremely popular, keep EAC on its toes
theoretically, I would expect a maximum production of about 1000 kWh over that time period but subtract from that the electricity you have used within your house. 700 β 800 kWh into the system seems reasonable.

which Christmas? We applied about Christmas 2019 and we are still waiting, despite various reminders. I've been told that the Larnaca district installers have a huge backlog (not verified, hearsay)

Re: Well done Ladies!
Who cares? I do, for one. I care because games (not sports) have monopolised television for financial reasons. Why do I care? Because many of my regular viewings disappear off the face of the earth or, if they stay, they are at an inconvenient time or they clash with other wanted programs. Football ...

... Both of these issues cause my conscience to lead me to enormous conflict and I hate the path my country has taken. I do not have these qualms. When I went into the army in 1951, I was a true blooded conservative by inheritance. Having lived with my fellow soldiers (signalmen) for over 2 1/2 yea...
Re: UK PM
I hate the way people refer to the Thatcher government as "Far right". This is utter nonsense and insulting. I was no fan of the woman but that sort of statement is ridiculous. I agree, but at that time, the opposite side was headed by the left Corbyn and he was possibly further left than...

that's a Conservative party supporters first line of defence, call anyone who is critical of the party an extreme left winger. When I was young and carefree, I supported the Conservative party, mainly because my parents did and they couldn't do wrong, could they? However, some 60 or 70 years ago, I...
