Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.
It's a great deal simpler to have a Cyprus bank account and have your pension paid directly into that.

I hope to see it tonight with the necessary popcorn and chocolate. Toby Jones is one of my favourites. His Dad was jolly good too.

Re: Glastonbury - a non-event
Well of course not - I believe I was having a grown-up discussion with someone who does, as a rule. Do you pay it? Not, of course, that it is any of my business. Or yours, come to that. By the way Devil you are half right - it is a load of old broadcasts but on THREE channels. Yup, even BBC4 has bee...

Re: Glastonbury - a non-event
You are absolutely right and if I could see you I would give you the fiver myself! It's the same every bloody week with the BBC. We will take it that this week black lives no longer matter and the NHS are no longer heroes. Next week it will be the blasted tennis for 300 weeks. It makes me want to sc...

Re: Andre Rieu
He is really the new James Last. And there is nothing wrong with that. Growing up in the sixties and seventies I had a healthy disrespect for anything my parents liked and James Last was the target of most of my scorn. My parents bribed and drugged me and dragged me to see him at the Albert Hall and...

Re: Dog Rear Leg Support ( Large Breed )
You could try "Trixie". They are a mail order company that delivers to Cyprus and are reasonably priced. Otherwise speak to Yianni at the vet practice opposite Papantonious in Chlorakas. He found a very good quality support for our Rottie at a very good price.

I did - and it was so effective I haven't really needed a specialist since. However I believe the Rheumatology Department at the Evangelismos is excellent.

Re: Thumb athritis
I have rheumatoid arthritis and it started in my thumbs. For two years or so that was the only pain I experienced - but it then spread everywhere else. First opportunity you have I would see a rheumatologist. If it is caught early enough, as it was with me, the meds work really well and it shouldn't...

Re: The Sound of Jumbo
The last time we went to Jumbo they were playing a twenty-five minute (I kid you not) version of Agadoo in greek. Ever so slightly speeded up. On a loop. We still ask ourselves occasionally if we are quite sure we hadn't both imagined it. Imagine having to work on the checkout for ten hours at a str...

Re: Takeaways
I don't think it matters all that much. It isn't about sticking to a somewhat ambiguous rule book - more about keeping yourself safe and applying commonsense. Of course you should have a takeaway once in a while if you like. I have just been out for a few groceries and some petfood. The lady at the ...

I can't go to the Vet to buy worm and tick treatments and my dogs are not allowed their annual vaccinations. While I am at home not spreading disease my dogs are at risk to themselves and other animals. None of it makes any sense.

Re: what is considered an acceptable distance to travel
Andrew Oliver posted very helpfully yesterday on this subject. His wife made enquiries and it seems you may walk your dogs within a 200 metre radius of your home. So pretty much round the block. Not perfect but hey! the closer we stick to the rules the sooner we can all get back to normal.

If he becomes Sir Lewis (god forbid!) then it is profoundly to be hoped that he will begin to dress appropriately in royal boxes, take his hands out of his pockets, stop whistling, waving and dancing when the national anthem is played, and STOP wearing his hat on backwards indoors! I am aware that I...
