Re: YELLOW SLIP - DIP IN UK AND BACK

The "yellow slip" is not an ID document; it's only a permit to reside. I would respectfully suggest that you hire a container, fill it with the vehicle and your personal belongings. Two or three weeks later, it will be outside your house in Cyprus, hassle free. The

Re: Alpha Bank New On Line Security Requirements

Devil, So what did you do? Did you have to buy a new Smartphone. Did you have to buy one of those expensive ones at around €1,000 or could you get away with something less expensive? No! Initially I bought one at, I think, EUR85, which worked fine as far as banking was concerned. It had a number of...

Re: Alpha Bank New On Line Security Requirements

Following EU directives, Alpha Bank is now requiring that you have on your mobile an app for 'push' notifications. I tried to download this app from the Google icon on the app page and got the message that my mobile will not accept the app. Will Alpha fund the purchase of a new mobile so that I can...

Many foreign helpers have a net income of between EUR300 and 350. Worse, many widows who themselves have never contributed receive about EUR 320.

Re: The Joy of brexit

I do not know that "pathetic and childish behaviour" is not a bit of an exaggeration. It is probably just the difference between two customs agents, one of whom may be better trained than the other or simply does not understand the English terms used to describe the contents. Do you know w...

Re: Post Office form

Why blame the Post office, things were never going to be the same after Brexit? What the heck has the post office done to invoke Brexit? That the British Post Office did something similar, I could understand; but the Cypriot one? No! In any case, it seems to be for nearly every non--EU country. :ro...

Bloody bureaucracy if there ever was any! The post office should be thoroughly ashamed of itself for introducing such an idiocy.

Re: Mind, high dust levels not only Paphos area....

I was too occupied yesterday to note the dust levels. At the moment, the PM 2.5 level is hovering around 10 µg/m³, where we are. This is quite low and harmless. Unfortunately, I have two systems measuring PM 1.0, 2.5 and 10 but one does not interface to a computer and the other is supposed to but do...

Has anyone received the notification letter that states the percentage increase to the state Pension? I usually get this around the end of February, however have had any notification so far this year. :!: :?: Has it not occurred to you that the post from the UK to Cyprus is often very much delayed?...

Re: Overseas Summer Holidays Extremely Unlikely This Year

Devil will give a more scientific reply, but as far as I understand it, the vaccination does not stop you from getting the virus, it lessens the affects from it. I cannot give a more scientific reply for the simple reason that yours is perfectly adequate. I cannot quote the exact date but I remembe...

Re: Overseas Summer Holidays Extremely Unlikely This Year

It would seem that we are not out of the woods. Several members of this forum say that that they will be flying, who knows how many of them will have the coronavirus by the time they come back, despite the fact that they have been vaccinated? It may be a bit early to tell but, if these people do bri...
