Re: If only I'd warned...
I am always amazed by some people’s perception of where left or right of centre things lie…. Tories say the BBC is left-wing. Labour says it’s right-wing. The country (England) overwhelming voted Tory. If that’s an indication of left-wing, when we have a cabinet containing Johnson, Rees-Mogg and oth...

With respect, most of you live in Cyprus and are barely affected by Brexit. Lloyd has a business affected by Brexit. I live in the UK, have Cyprus properties, I am severely affected by Brexit and now Covid effects. Both in the UK and my Cypriot connections/business etc. Dominic, you find the topic t...

The agricultural void cannot be filled with local workers. Fruit farms paid minimum wage, but workers had to stay in caravans or barns on site and were charged back half their wage for accommodation and food…. The farmers need that margin and paying locals minimum wage won’t cut it.

Re: Chicken in short supply in UK… along with other goods..
Dee I shop in Hereford or Ledbury, and can find everything I need, maybe I'm just lucky. How do you know that the size of lorries is a cause of concern to the police ? I have seen no mention of that. It is obvious that, as usual, Brexit is to blame for everything by some. As for shortages of goods ...

Re: UK extends CE marking beyond 2021 as nobody is ready for UK certification
It would have been so easy to keep these pan-European standards in place. I think they are being totally irresponsible. There are also the standards for medicines and much more. It will cost the UK a fortune and lead to shortages and items not available at all.

Lion fish are a pest worldwide now. In some places they have to pay fishermen to spear them otherwise they can wipe out local ecosystems.

Re: UK extends CE marking beyond 2021 as nobody is ready for UK certification
In laywomans terms, this means that any electrical, medical or mechanical and many other goods, imported to the UK, will now need a CE certificate for the EU and a separate UK one for the UK

UK extends CE marking beyond 2021 as nobody is ready for UK certification
The UK government is to grant a major concession to British business by prolonging the deadline for companies to adopt a new “UKCA” safety and quality mark for their goods after Brexit. The one-year extension for UK products to continue using the EU’s “CE” safety mark came after businesses warned th...

Re: Chicken in short supply in UK… along with other goods..
Surely the UK has to relent on the working permit levels for foreign workers. Currently set at £25,500 I think. So Non-Clinical staff in hospitals and social care, agriculture workers and much more are excluded.

Well, 50 Nando’s stores had to close this week, no chicken. Costco sold out. Most supermarkets struggling to have much.

Re: UK Passport Expiry Dates
Why has it become such, that they arch Brexiteers, are the ones mocking this happening? I didn’t say it was purely a Brexit consequence, simply a fact of what it is., The issue is the lack of knowledge of this. I wasn’t aware and I am sure millions of others don’t, with no travel for a year or two

Re: UK Passport Expiry Dates
Omg how terrible. How will people cope?🙄🤣 Aye... very droll... The point is that a 10-year passport is now 9.5 years at best. It also means many people are turning up at airports and being turned away if less than 6 months active. That ain't no laughing matter! IF people had this brought to their a...

Re: Vaccination? Embarassing get out of this one.
I’m not portraying myself as any expert, but I deal with NHS Consultants every day and vaccinations, masks, proper ventilation are the only ways to safeguard yourself and others. Putting people into indoor spreader events, like nightclubs, is folly. Johnson has pretty much allowed non-mask wearing t...

They were told recently not to shield, as Vaccinations and immunity from previous infections has relegated Covid to a relatively acceptable virus. Last year, it was killing far too many. The UK Government, like Sweden and others, still believes in ‘herd immunity’ which is not possible with a Corona ...

Re: UK cases lowest for a month
OK, so I was on Cambridge last week and pleasantly surprised that people wore masks in supermarkets, malls and transport. Almost everyone. Travelled back and stopped at Wetherby services, about a third of people were not wearing masks, mainly younger people. I feel uncomfortable, had a pee and left....
