Re: Ring - Expand or Cut

The jeweller (I forget his name) in Makarios Avenue in the old town, next to Gregory watch shop, removed my ring by cutting it, then did a terrific job of making it bigger and reinstating the engraving on the inside of the ring.

Re: So easy top up

I thought that as long as you used your phone once in the period, the top up lasted another while. So try using it to dial any UK or Cyprus number. Then hang up when the phone is answered Nothing to lose.

Re: Hornets

Are you sure they're not hornet-mimic hoverflies? They are more common here and are harmless. It's very, very hard to tell the difference between the two using the naked eye.

If nothing changes in the meantime, you'll need a €60 test when you arrive at Paphos or Larnaca airport.

Re: Elon Musk 4th richest person in the world...

Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of people in the UK, for example, who don't have off-road parking, or live in a tower block. Strange isn't it. No one seems to come back with an answer for the question you have posed Can they not buy a hybrid ? Let them eat cake , I say . ;) I suppose it's ...

Re: Use of hidden chemicals.

If a restaurant or place offering refreshments needs to offer these then use a piece of lemon and finger dip instead, or raise yourself up and go wash in the bathroom. You use lemon? Its very low pH (about 2.1) must be very bad for the skin. Not to mention all the other chemicals in it, such as alk...

Re: Troodos Electric

Thanks, mouse. Using your info, I checked their Facebook page and they are still on Ellados Avenue, somewhere! The photo on their page doesn't look like a photo of their old shop so hopefully they've got new premises. Will check it out.
Thanks again.

Troodos Electric

This superb shop a couple of doors down from Costas Tyres has disappeared since the building housing all of the outlets is being renovated. Does anyone know where it has gone - or has it simply closed down? I presume it is/was part of Troodos Electric Cables Ltd. If so, their web site doesn't have a...

Re: Info on Telescopes

Like most things in life, it depends on your budget. However, I'd suggest you buy a Schmidt-Cassegrain reflecting 'scope (search Amazon). Far more compact and adaptable if your needs change upscale later in life than a refracting 'scope. It all depends what you are going to look at, too. Just planet...

Re: MEU1 required for holiday home?

Well the rule is there... If you stay longer than 90 days in a 180 day period you have to register with the immigration office Exactly right. And non-EU citizens should get an MEU2. All passports are scanned upon arrival and exit, so it's not too difficult for immigration to see how long a person s...
