Re: Post-Brexit British nationals in Cyprus to also be able to vote in municipal elections

I thought we could already vote in Municipality elections and we could stand as a councillor, but not as mukhtar/mayor. I remember voting 5 years ago.

Re: Alpha Bank New On Line Security Requirements

Devil,

So what did you do? Did you have to buy a new Smartphone. Did you have to buy one of those expensive ones at around €1,000 or could you get away with something less expensive?

Alpha Bank New On Line Security Requirements

Following EU directives, Alpha Bank is now requiring that you have on your mobile an app for 'push' notifications. I tried to download this app from the Google icon on the app page and got the message that my mobile will not accept the app. Will Alpha fund the purchase of a new mobile so that I can ...

HIC,
Pointing out the failures of the UK government is not a suitable answer to poor EU performances. Two wrongs do not make a right.

I think there has already been too much administrating of the AZ vaccine and we should have more administering.

I think they Temporarily banned it because they had justifiable concerns about some issues, nothing to do with childish sour grapes brexit rubbish Justifiable? By whom? Certainly not by the WHO or EMA. Maybe by some unqualified politicians. Certainly not by statistics which show that AZ thrombosis ...

Have the EU shot themselves in the foot over the AstraZeneca vaccine by banning it temporarily because it is linked to the UK. Could it just be sour grapes over Brexit?. I think they Temporarily banned it because they had justifiable concerns about some issues, nothing to do with childish sour grap...

I agree with you. I have already decided that come what may I am going to attend the hospital.

A sad day indeed. I watched F1 religiously every Sunday no matter what time it was live on TV. But that all stopped when we moved to Cyprus in 2004. Watching the footage on TV in a bar with English commentary coming from another source felt too unfamiliar and just didn't work for me. I tried to get...

Re: Government cancels all operations in Cyprus ...

I am totally confused as to whether I can attend an oncology clinic at Limassol General Hospital next Wednesday or an private optical optical clinic on Thursday. I don't see how attending a clinic that has no bed facility is going to alleviate any shortage of Covid-19 bed spaces. I thought the new d...

JimX,

Not sure if you are interested but I booked yesterday via the GESY Portal for myself and my wife but in Limassol for next Friday. Plenty of spaces. The problem it seems is they are not allocating sufficient doses to Paphos. For us its not much further to travel to Limassol as it is to Paphos.

For anyone that is interested there are still open reservations in Limassol on next Thursday and Friday on the GESY portal. (Astra Zeneca) At the Spiros Kyprianou sports centre which is on the Paphos side of Limassol. Follow the signs for Troodos Second roundabout under the motorway, second exit and...

Re: What is going on with these age related Covid vaccines?

I note that those that are praising the system are those that have been able to get on the system and get their vaccination. What about those in the higher, at risk, age groups that have not. Whilst the system, I accept, is good the way it is being applied leaves loopholes.

I was talking about your use of selective statistics, nothing else. By doing this you diminish your whole argument, even if it may be true.

Apparently they had changed the rooms for the first and second jabs over from the previous day and they had problems with...

JimB,
On the subject of civil servants you failed to include the number of civil servants employed within each of the individual countries. This would have given a more representative comparison. May I suggest selective information?
