Re: Coronavirus: Incoming flights

Of course anyone in Cat B with a negative test then has 72 in which they could get infected before flying. Whilst true, I think that most infectious cases are those who do not need a test in advance of flying. Of course I have no proof of this as the government does not publish details, only referr...

Re: Coronavirus: Incoming flights

1) Why are so many people arriving ( I presume ) & testing positive? a) Had they ignored the requirement to have a test 72hrs prior to flying? or, b) Were they residents/citizens? 2) What happened to the passengers who shared a flight with these people? a) Were they all tested (negative) before...

Re: I think this will put the cat amongst the pigeons

HIC, I think that you are a bit optimistic if you think this will "put the cat amongst the pigeons". Superficially something might be done but nothing of real effect. Re-read my post. I never said that. It was the OP who did ;) So who is the "I" in the thread subject heading?

Note this bit: "He also said supermarkets and shops will serve only vulnerable groups between 8am and 9am." And they start tomorrow, for two weeks. "The above measures, regulated by a Decree of the Minister of Health that will be issued within the day, enter into force from tomorrow,...

Re: Supermarket trollies

Have you noticed there are no trolleys that can be fitted to wheelchairs here? I am only saying this as I have had to get a wheelchair for my wife and you cannot go around pushing both when not connected. I am hoping that she will be back on her feet soon as she has been ill and has lost a lot of m...

Re: flight and covid

Without a test result you will not be allowed to board the aircraft, unless you are a Cypriot citizen or s legal resident of the republic. This to me this is a loophole as those not required to have a test but can get onto a plane are a potential source of infection to fellow passengers. In my opin...

Parking at the old location near the law courts was a nightmare. Other businesses should take note.

Re: UK Still in Category B! (Oct 6th)

Maybe I have this wrong but I thought that returning Cypriots and residents who are only tested upon arrival in Cyprus (and may have sat on the plane alongside tested tourists) are supposed to self isolate until their test results are available. I wonder how many actually do so? Not an easy situati...

With all the 'local' infections I do hope that the powers that be are not only looking for those people that these latest infections may have passed on but also trying to find out the source of the original infections.

Re: Coronavirus: Thirty-nine new cases, 33 from abroad (Update 3)

I thought that people from Cat B countries had to have a Covid 19 test and certificate giving a negative result, 72 hrs before entry to Cyprus, or are the rules different for each country ? That's what I have arranged before I fly. Chances are that all these passengers were actually Cypriots return...

Are we sure that those travelling from Mykonos were not Cypriot tourists to that island returning to Cyprus after their hols?
