Re: Healthspan by Courier
I too have been using Healthspan for years and usually get the letterbox friendly packets in my post box or if too many to fit in the box the village postie asks me to collect from his house. However, with a 50% discount offer, I ordered more than usual and discovered if you order 15 or more packets...

Re: The origin of Bitcoin
Interesting article, but I still wouldn't touch Bitcoin or any other crypto currency with a barge pole. Yes, I know it is possible to make money, even now, although the heady days of vast profits are, I suspect, over and it is only those scammers who try to encourage you to buy into what is essentia...

Re: Investigations into Tala fire indicate electrical cables
Several years ago we were frequently subjected to one or maybe two phases of our three phase supply being cut off. We worked out that the overhead cables leading down to our neighbours had become slack and between birds sitting on them or the wind blowing them about, the insulation covering had beco...

Re: Another fire !
I drove up through the outskirts of Akoursos yesterday morning en route from Pegeia to Kathikas and was astounded at how much of the undergrowth had been burnt so close to the village. This was BEFORE this latest horrible fire.

Re: Your first wage.
My first wage was £2 per week, delivering newspapers and on the weekends, collecting the week's money. Horrible sweaty dirty work, the newsprint rubbed off onto everything. I hated having to go into the local bikers' bar on a Saturday lunchtime, and some houses were sooo smelly I didn't want to go b...

Re: probate etc in Cyprus.
The Cyprus Bar Association has a list of fees that their members are obliged to charge - and that includes some astronomical percentage of the estate for being the executor of a will. Probate over here can be expensive but even worse, a very lengthy process, adding insult to injury at an already dis...

Re: The Zeus Factor
Thanks for the tip Kay. :) Definitely enjoying so far :D I thoroughly enjoyed reading it - in fact I was supposed to be proof reading it but got engrossed in the tale! So I've read it more than once, and found it equally engrossing each time. When you've finished, if you could leave a review it wou...

The Zeus Factor
My friend has just had her first book published, The Zeus Factor by Nikki Burrows.
It is a lovely take on Greek myths, set in Paphos.
Well worth reading.

Pop in to Pasykaf and ask one of the nurses there. They know their patients and those who are having a hard time financially as well as healthwise.

Re: Profit-making EAC told to reduce electricity bills
Very clear explanation, Ian. Thank you. 🙂 I would just add that I understand that the itemising of various charges on the EAC invoices was something insisted on by the EU, possibly after the financial crisis over here. This itemisation was supposedly a requisite for opening up the electricity genera...

Very unpleasant indeed. Did this occur at an isolated house, or one in a more built up area?

They look yummy Lloyd.
Chelsea buns are amongst my favourite sweet treats - and that's not an extremely unsubtle hint!
I'd show a photo of my hot cross-less Hot Cross Buns (too early for Easter goodies ) but I cannot work out how to shrink it to fit! Doh, me and technology!

A reduction would be good, especially for those who have found themselves financially stretched due to Covid preventing many from working.

Yes, Trev's correct. The end of your credit year depends on your billing cycle. It will either be with the reading for the February bill or with the reading for the March bill, whichever your particular billing period is. You realise under the new system, brought in a year or so ago, it is no longer...

So very sorry to hear your sad news. My sincere condolences to you and your family. You must be devastated after sharing so many years together. The only advice I can give you, based on my own experience, is to lean on friends and family, and to go through the various emotions covered by the term &q...

Re: Add name to Title deeds
Yes You are correct Trev, you will have a separate deed of the same plot/property showing your percentage of ownership. So the OP’s wife would be ‘transferring’ 50% to him so the 0.1% fee would apply on the market value of 50%. Jeanne Back in 2017 when my then terminally ill hisband transferred his...
