Re: Paphos City Roadworks

We took a saunter around the Old Town yesterday. The commercial areas have been completely devastated by, I assume, the effects of the building works, Covid and high rents. Shops that were trading a couple of weeks ago have closed now so it appears to be on-going. Looking at the vast number of empty...

My Google dictionary gives the definition of Scum as 'A worthless or contemptible person or group of people' so I think she hit the nail on the head.

Jcc Smart are snowed under with new applications and it will take quite a while to clear the back log. According to our accountant it could take 12 months before everyone who should, has got a card reader system set up.

Re: Speeding Ticket

There is no legal requirement for officers to be visible to motorists when operating a speed camera. They normally choose to be easily seen as a deterrent to drivers travelling too fast.

Re: UK Government scraps pension triple lock for 2022/23

Tax payer's money going into Social Care under this current group of liars and thieves known as the UK Government. You have to be joking ! A lot of the funding earmarked will be spent on the NHS and lots of that will end up in the.pockets of the private sector or should I say the pockets of the liar...

Re: Sterling cheque

If it is not issued by a UK bank it takes 21 days and I think they charge €5. If it is a UK bank, no charge and credited to your account straight away. This is after much gnashing of teeth and running to the manager's office a couple of times and signing copious sheets of paper.
Good luck.

Re: confused (not)

I am also finding it difficult to understand the thinking with regards to those who have and those who have not. If you can carry and spread the virus vaccinated or not, why are the government segregating people. I had the jabs to protect myself from a serious illness, not to protect anyone else. I ...

Job vacancies - conditions

I am noticing more and more that job adverts here are stating applicants need to have an EU passport. I assume that rules out Brits. which probably doesn't trouble a lot of retired members on this forum but there are many British younger people with children growing up here who will need employment ...

Gesy GP

My partner and I are wanting to change from our current GP.
We live in Polemi so either Paphos or Polis would suit if someone can recommend a capable Doc who speaks English. We are both with Gesy.
Thanks
Geoff.

Re: AstraZeneca Gone Walkabout

There appears to be loads of Astra Zeneca available today. All the usual vaccination sites are offering it. My partner needs the Pfizer jab, is 62 years old and it is proving impossible to get an appointment. The Government are seemingly making a hash of getting people vaccinated in a timely manner ...
