Re: Airlines

lotus, I would guess that if they cancelled those flights now they would have now to refund bookings either by cash, voucher, etc. so in order to postpone that operation they don't cancel flights until the last minute. Sort of deferring a cash flow negativity as far as they can. Who knows, maybe unt...

Re: U.K. traffic lights to end of lockdown

UK Lockdown is a myth. They are only playing at it. Any early release release will inevitably lead to repercussions. I am amazed at how much the UK is following the USA in this talk about releasing a weak lockdown. I hope the UK public is more discening than that in the USA, just look at the moron t...

Re: Coronavirus: Four phases and three months for opening up measures

As far as beaches and beach bars are concerned I saw no mention of them in the four steps apart from indirectly in step four which is at least 6 weeks down the road after the first step has taken place at the beginning of May and even then it will be subject to review. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

Lincoln Did you forget to "declare an interest" written in another post on here your previous employment history of "selling medical disposables to the healthcare industry? Alan I hardly think that Lincoln's comment on this thread is compromised by any possible 'interest' as you infer. In fact anyo...

Yes, started at about 14.00hrs this afternoon and as of 18.455hrs still freezing after about 10 seconds of programme and then off for about 15 seconds. Sometimes the programme continues from where it left off sometimes it jumps to later in the programme.. Rebooted several times, both the mag box an...

Re: Wearing face masks

Gloves will probably do more harm than good. If you touch a contaminated surface you´ll contaminate the next thing you touch just as you´d with your hands. So at the end of your shopping you´ll simply have two more potentially infective items. It makes much more sense to not use them and rather dis...

Re: SMS permission query

You cannot go to the doctors and go to the supermarket. On the twice I was controlled on the same form with both ticked, the police approved it tacitly. Yes, but open to different interpretations at different checkpoints. I just wish all these rules were clear and based upon common sense and I am s...

Re: Paying for a Gesy prescription

I think this is rubbish. It certainly won’t be a government rule. I very rarely carry any cash so would just go to another pharmacy. Unfortunately not possible though I know in the current situation. Jeanne What is rubbish? And who said it was a government rule? The only mention of government was i...

[Nowadays these are notional Kay, 1.8% or less is what we pay. I'm sure pharmacists make a healthy enough margin to cover this.
But I am sure they would like to make more.

Re: Paying for a Gesy prescription

Originally the pharmacy that I regularly use followed the 'rule' that payment for prescriptions should be made in cash. However on my last visit as I had bought several other items they said I could pay for everything by card. Upon asking why I was told that if the total was only a small amount as w...

Re: Lidl this week

Sensible requirement so that supermarket Lidl are not given an unfair commercial advantage over other stores who would normally sell these items, but who are now prevented from doing so. We stocked up on toner cartridges several weeks ago, as I foresaw this situation arising. Incidentally you can s...

GESY CT Scan

Does anyone know where I can get a CT scan as required by my oncologist for her to check before my next appointment with her on 15 April. Immediately after my appointment with her on 24th March I booked a CT scan at the Iasis hospital. As at that time they were only closed until 1 April they were ab...

Re: Face masks

Regarding face masks, the WHO recommendation, at the present, is that wearing them is primarily to protect against infection of others by the wearer and not to protect the wearer against infection by others. Having said this, when the numbers of those that may be infected are not definitively known ...
