He will get round the Benn act by asking for an extension and then immediately withdraw that request. He can say that he sent the request. Please don't think that I agree with such a devious tactic because I don't. On the other hand I don't agree with the intention of the Benn Act.

Re: Applying for MEU3 in Advance

Both myself and my wife hold MEU1 certificates issued on 26/11/14. Does anyone know if the Immigration Department will entertain applications for MEU3s marginally before the 5 year qualifying date of 26/11/19. Any advice? Surely it's 5 years from moving to Cyprus, not 5 years from getting MEU1. In ...

Re: A simple question for Brexiteers...

The red bus featured large of course, (wrongly) claiming savings of £350m a week. I am not sure but I think the message on the bus was actually "we send £350m a week to the EU" which was correct. However it did not go on to say that of that £350m we got a £175m (approx) rebate. Misleading, I agree....

Re: Process to see Personal Doctor at Paphos Hospital

Just wondered if patients who have an appointment to see a Personal Doctor still have to queue at the Registration Desk to get labels or do they now go direct to the relevant waiting area to be seen by the doctor? The latter. Stickers are no longer required for any follow up action required by your...

Re: Certifying Officer (Notary)

When coming down the Polis road, turn right at Lidl. Go down that road until you see a plot here there are usually several cranes parked. Turn right in front of the cranes. A notary has an office there on the right. Parking is on the road in front of the office. Coming along the road from Chlorakas ...

19 and 24, that's hardly youngsters. Old enough to ride quad bikes and thereby old enough to kill others with reckless driving behaviour.

Re: New blood test at your GESY GP..

trevnhil, One of the reasons why I chose to stay with a GP at the General. All under one roof. Not that it is of any help to you or any other non Greek speakers (like myself), but I think the new requirements after 31st August were published in the local newspapers. Not sure about English language n...

Re: New blood test at your GESY GP..

Yes, anyone who wants to see a Specialist Doctor has to get a referral letter from their Personal Doctor. Even those patients who have an appointment that was made prior to May 2019 need to get a referral letter as since 01 September the system only recognises GESY registered patients. Many reports...

Dr. Mavroumatis is a urologist and operates out of Paphos General. I see him or his assistant every 6 months for a PSA check up.

Trevnil
After my visit to the surgeon last Monday it would have been about 11.00hrs when I had blood taken. Never had my results go missing over the last 5 years.

Re: New blood test at your GESY GP..

My gp did mine in the surgery at my app results next day. back from the lab and they took them and collected them for me. 1e per test so much better than at the general. Think it depends on your gp. The surgeon at the General Hospital minor surgery clinic last Monday prescribed several blood tests ...

Re: Title Deeds - Source of Purchase Funds

Kili01, I never thought that I wouldn't have to comply. I just wanted to know if others had had the same request. As far as money laundering is concerned, as I have provided details of payments from a bank here in Cyprus via a mortgage, I would have thought that would have been good enough for that....

On our apartment complex we have a leakage problem which percolates through to our covered car park below. Our maintenance contractor has mentioned a couple of possibilies and has suggested that we get an inspection done to determine the actual cause of the problem. Can anyone recommend anyone who c...

Title Deeds - Source of Purchase Funds

I have just been informed by my lawyer that before issuing the Title Deeds the Land Registry require me to contact my bank to get a confirmation letter that all the funds I used to purchase the property originally came from outside Cyprus. Has anyone else had to jump through this hoop?

Re: UK state pension

Without any reference to long-term commitment, I can't think why this is even a news story. The SMS I received simply said that you would carry on getting your UK state pension after the UK leaves the EU on 31st Oct; which is about as obvious as it gets, and a waste of an SMS. Maybe, just maybe, so...

Just to add a little. the text stated that the situation would apply even if UK left with a 'No Deal'.
