I'm signing out - this forum has become a joke already

Oh please don't go, us half-wits rely on you to portend the future and remind us of all the things which are wrong with Cyprus, Germany, the EU and the Euro.

On second thoughts.... :?

Re: Is Trump mentally ill?

Not sure whether this article (story widely reported in many other newspapers/media) is indicative of the 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder' referred to by OhSusana, but sounds like it could and will hardly will endear Trump to William and Harry if the State visit does go ahead: http://www.thedaily...

Anyway, there is another petition now...

Donald Trump should make a State Visit to the United Kingdom. ;)

So there is. And as I write, it has garnered 102,000 votes. Slightly less than the 1.67 million who say they don't want him to meet the Queen.

Re: Petition in support of Trump UK visit

An hour or two ago Yahoo reported that well over 1.5 million people (self included) had voted in favour of Trump NOT enjoying a State visit.

The alternative petition in favour of Trump seeing the Queen had gained just 77,000 votes.

Easy to determine which way people are thinking.

Re: Is Trump mentally ill?

Perhaps that's why it got so many signatures, people signing from outside the UK made it void and was, therefore, sidestepped. Made it void? How so? From the petition site: "Only British citizens or UK residents have the right to sign" Last time I looked at my passport I was a British citizen ...

SFAIK, you cannot claim the discount retrospectively. I believe that date was before the discount was introduced.

Line 3 on Americans killed by Islamist Jihadists is 9. On 9/11 by that quantity they did 313 years worth, so evidently they are having a well earned rest.
Underneath it says 10 year average. All the figures were 10 year average. 9/11 was in 2001.

Re: Is Trump mentally ill?

I'm so incensed by Trump and what he is about that I actually took the trouble to find and sign the anti Trump State Visit petition. Up to 1.5 million signatories now. Even if the petition is unsuccessful (as seems likely) and he comes for his photo-op with the Royals, the demonstrations will be ple...

Re: Latest Leaders Meeting a Flop

There are a fair amount of Chinese kids at the ISOP, so some of them definitely do stay. Indeed. And ISOP is now part-owned by Chinese investors. Chinese have invested in far more than just 'houses for residency'. Though Wallace is right, whole developments have been sold to Chinese, which of cours...

Re: Latest Leaders Meeting a Flop

OK, I'm not Trev, but I have no difficulty with Chinese citizens acquiring an EU passport for €1 million (if indeed that's what happens). They humans just like we are, so why not? Chinese have a choice of many different countries where they can 'buy' residency or a passport...and I'd rather Cyprus h...

Re: Pound/ Euro

Prime Minister of Spain is getting a bit of a squeaky bum though- his country has a unemployment rate of 21%, an "inflation" rate of -0.2% (which is a lot worse than an inflation rate of 3.5%) and Brexit has the capacity to hit Spain a lot harder than it will hit the UK. Perhaps Spain's economy is ...

And he is right too! I wish UK will adopt such a policy once out of the EU. Geoff. I know you post just to be confrontational, and I shouldn't therefore take the bait, but what if EU countries decided post-Brexit that all UK citizens wouldn't on some arbitrary pretext be allowed to reside/work in E...

The annual figures obviously don't take into account seasonal spikes- 9/11 springs to mind of course

You clearly didn't read the notes underneath which said: "10-year average of terrorist attacks "Deadly attacks since 9/11". 9/11 was 16 years ago...so hardly a regular occurence.

Another of your predictions in the line of: "The pound will be €1.41 before the end of January?"

Yeah, I know it was your 'friends in the City' who made this prediction. But you promulgated it as fact.
