Re: French Election

So, in conclusion the pound is not now 'plummeting' but trading in a range, as it has always done. Check back on my earlier posts, I've been pointing that out to Dominic and CG for weeks. I've also been using the two year charts for, well, it seems like ever. I check everything from 5 day to 5 year...

Re: French Election

Now run along and nit-pick those articles...that thould keep you busy for an hour or five  Nope. No, I can well imagine you not wanting to accept that the many predictions made by Remainers are now coming to fruition. In addition to those articles I've also read a number of articles ove...

Re: French Election

Well, if you don't think the pound has plummeted from where it was a year ago, your understanding of economics is obviously different to mine. Logic dictates that a currency can't keep on plummeting ad infinitum! However, all bets are off if negotiations don't go as well as Theresa May thinks they w...

Re: French Election

CG I try to muster up the enthusiasm to read and respond to your worldly-wise posts, I really do, but when faced with the nit-picking dross contained in your post of 10.40am yesterday, I lose the will to live. So forgive me, another day perhaps ;) Meanwhile, with the pound having failed to continue ...

The simple(!) solution would be to re-unify Ireland.

Possibly about as much chance as re-unifying Cyprus :?

Re: Cyprus Eurovision Entry

I would too, just to hear Julian Clary's camp one liners. He's not on TV enough in my opinion. He's acerbic in a gentle manner. X So agree with your observations. Always remember a game show he once hosted: half the time the contestants didn't realise he was taking the pee out of them, what they we...

From what people have said, TransferWise is fastest.
I made another transfer from Cyprus last night using Transferwise. The money was in my account in the UK in 47 seconds ;)

Re: Is it only me who thinks this is weird?

Hi Photolady, Judging by the responses so far, it would seem that it IS only you who thinks what this young girl has done is weird. I personally think it is very sweet and lovely to do this photo shoot, she won't be able to live her dream so why not! It is also so nice to have her hair and make up ...

Re: French Election

I only come into the Political section late at night because I can't be bothered responding to each and every one of Mark's (CG's) nit-picking posts. He must spend his whole day looking for perceived inconsistencies in Remainer posts and then raising trivial queries on each and every one of them. He...

Re: Cyprus Eurovision Entry

Terry Wogan was absolutely correct, it is Kitsch and it is fun and I am afraid Mr Bjorkman perhaps needs to understand the British Sense of Humour better, or indeed get a sense of Humour...the programme is still hugely popular in the EU.. Agree Hudswell. Terry Wogan added humour and mischievous fun...

Coincidentally just had to make a transfer from our Cyprus business account to a personal account in the UK, using Transferwise. The money was in our UK account 10 minutes after sending. Beat that, high street banks!

The only thing evident from your pedantic drivel CG is that you've got too much time on your hands

Me losing? :? More likely the UK as a consequence of Brexit. Will be evident in the months which lie ahead. Just wait and see.

And we've been using Simon of Sensible Satellites (99 182461 and 99 386274) for the best part of a year now. We pay €250 annually in advance. Superb quality of viewing and infinitely better than NTV who we were with previously. With NTV there was always issues, outages and frequent re-setting of the...

I must say that for the saving of just a few pounds, I would never use an intermediary outfit. TransferWise's advert on the radio says something along the lines of "instead of transferring straight from your UK bank to your bank in Cyprus, you send the money to us instead". Alarm bells, delays etc....

Re: Bee-Eaters

Fascinating stuff Ams. If you ever dine at the Vasilias Nikoklis Inn in Nikoklia during the summer months you will be sharing your eating space with swallows nesting in the rafters. The proprietors leave the windows open and the swallows dart in and out of the windows, bringing food to their young. ...
