Re: Prime minister

Interesting that Theresa May was in tears at her own loss, but never cried for Grenfell victims, the 4m kids under the poverty level, the handicapped who are worse off with cuts, the immigrants from the Caribbean she caused untold anguish to ...

Re: Can things get worse?

Tony Blair was interviewed on LBC yesterday and actually said something sensible, that a second vote should be for No-Deal Brexit or for Remain. Whatever was voted for should now pass. He quoted NI and RoI referendums, where 2 referenda (referendii?) were held for the outcome, now that people knew t...

I honestly see noo diffence to the screw-up Corbyn would make, to the screw-up Johnson would make - in fact, only the rich would benefit under Johnson....

Re: Can things get worse?

Boris would be the very worst I could imagine, barring Rees-Mogg who I think everyone knows is unelectable.

Boris is a an absolute charlatan and if he gets elected, then those who think Corbyn would be bad, will live to rue the day Johnson took power.

Re: Can things get worse?

Farage was called “A PoundStore Enoch Powell one question time, so years ago” - a very apt description. Farage was in the National Front as a student and is a complete racist. He’s also not very bright and uses the usual trick of continually saying the same phrases. Much like other ‘popular’ leaders...

Re: Tactical Voting in the EU Elections

Jackie, that’s your opinion, which is fine, but I think most would regard severity as appropriate to compare. A bit like, does petty theft from a shop bear comparison to housebreaking and assault in someone’s home. There's much that should be investigated regarding Russian money and influence and it...

Re: Tactical Voting in the EU Elections

Jim I quite agree with you that two wrongs don't make a right, but I do find it strange that links to articles which only criticise the leave side are posted, as if the remain side are totally innocent of wrong doing, Electoral Commission or not, members of remain have been fined. It's easy enough ...

5 years for rape and incest. 99 years for doctor who aborts and more than 10 years for the victim.

Re: US Abortion Laws

Very emotive, but while we have some groups arguing for termination right up to 40 weeks, then there will always be arguments.

I’ve never heard prospective parents refer to the pregnancy and a ‘foetus’, nor abortion promoters refer to a ‘baby’.

Re: Tactical Voting in the EU Elections

The EU MEP voting will have a very, very low turnout. People do not regard it as a thermometer of people’s opinion of Leave/Stay. The Brexit party will do well, but nobody regards them as a serious party or that they will ever be representative of anything. Farage appeals to many people who like his...

Re: Doris Day. RIP

Very sad, part of my younger life! She did have quite a torrid life though, not quite the lovely, innocent Miss America she came over as. Nevertheless, loved her to bits and saw all her films. I looked into those rumours and she was, in my opinion, unfairly tagged with that, because she had 4 marri...

Re: Tactical Voting in the EU Elections

I think the concept of most of the MEPs from the UK opposing the U.K., but taking salaries and disrupting business there, is wrong. I’d rather we agreed to leave before they take up seats - if that’s what we do.... although I still want a second vote. If there is a second vote and the overwhelming m...

Corby was because the owners of the steelworks in Motherwell, open one in Corbyn and offered relocation to workers. Hence Scots Corner on the A1/A66 - the lad-way stage for what was a long journey in the early 20th century.

My property is about 50m from Peyia Valley complex on the same road.

Re: Waste management is not so complicated,

The UK has not bee good with recycling, with much put onto ships leaving to return to China - but they dumped in a landfill in West African states. We don't create energy from waste to any scale. Scandinavia does much, much better. " In the UK, the most common disposal method is landfill. Incinerati...
