Re: TV Recommendation

It is reported that Mondelez changed the recipe of the chocolate coating of Cadbury Crème Eggs, in 2015. In January 2016, it was reported that Cadbury had lost £6m in reduced sales of the eggs. Whose chocolate they used, I know not. Fake news or not, I can find no report from Cadbury to state that t...

Re: TV Recommendation

If they took over Cadbury, it seems that their chocolate isn't as popular with the British. Apparently the sale of cream eggs has fallen dramatically.

It could be because Germany is in the E.U. and Britain isn't ?

Dominic

I was on holiday in Cornwall then with my family, We cycled to Padstow from Wadebridge to watch that, we sat in a field overlooking the sea. Yes it was weird, listening to the birds.

Happy days.

There's no doubt that she gave comfort and hope to many during WW11.

I imagine that you meant 'styles'.

I do not answer to you, how or what I post. You do not have to reply to me, it's your choice.

Oh dear, any excuse, honestly. I think you know what I meant, or maybe you didn't read the article.

Well boys, enjoy your mud slinging, if you didn't have Allan and myself to have a go at, wouldn't you be bored.

Jim

It still reads like a novel to me, whether or not it suits my viewpoint.

As I see it, Boris can't please everyone, as far as I know, he has consulted the scientific world before taking action, and quite rightly.

Jim B

To me, it reads more like the first chapter of a novel, than a news article.

Boris is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't, by certain sectors. As for name calling, it's childish and unnecessary, no argument was ever won that way.

Re: Cenotaph

L.B. Yes I have since found that, but what it did say was that it was removed in 2020, not 2018. Simply that the council wanted to remove it, but because of the mood of the people, it was left in situ. I have to agree that you are right in what you say however, that F.B. can have false information q...

Re: Cenotaph

Jim In the article you posted the link to, it states "we've rated this claim as true as the stone has now been removed by Greenwich Council". I only posted this, as on F.B. it had been rated as true. Now, either they have or they haven't removed it, they have, the question now is when. I have to agr...

Re: Cenotaph

To see our war memorials desecrated by the low life mob is distressing enough, the fact that we are in a position where they have to be covered or removed, to protect them from thugs, is not acceptable.

Original first paragraph removed.

Yes we used to do the same, it never harmed our plants. Our shower water in the en-suite used to run onto our garden too.

Re: No excuse for this

Jim I have two close friends of Jamaican origin, neither of whom would ever react in the way that the mob has in some of our cities. If this killing of a black person by our police, in the manner in which has been shown, had happened in Britain, then I would not be at all surprised, but it wasn't. I...

L.B. It's ironic, I'm wrong to make caparisons, then I'm wrong if I agree with you, that comparisons shouldn't be made. Make your mind up  Nor am I ignoring the reaction in the wider world. I agree with a peaceful protest, without violence and criminal damage. One is lawful, the other is not. ...

Yes it's a very good article, well written and says just how most of us are feeling right now in the UK. That said, anyone who's on F.B. will no doubt have seen the photos of injured police officers.

dodo

Thanks for posting the link.

Re: No excuse for this

L.B. No You're right, they were not. P.C. Blakelock was murdered because he was a police officer doing his job. Lee Rigby was murdered because he was a member of our Armed Force. One trying to control a rioting mob, the other walking back to his barracks. Both innocent, upstanding members of our com...
