Re: Kleious and Romantica Restaurant

Koh-i-nor obviously moved to Kissonerga. I used to like their curries. Last I heard though was they had been incorporated into the Fly Again Pub in Argaka with a much-reduced menu. A shame. I drove all the way from Polis to Paphos at least once a month 25 years ago for dinner, to enjoy the food in ...

Minthis Hills must be very proud to implement Med9 summit...

Not much mentioned on CM, however a large article in the local press.... Top nobs from Europe but also from Egypt, Jordan will be surprised how nice the Paphos hinterland is at Minthis hills. Not to forget the excellent kitchen they have there. I enjoyed several times their buffet at Sundays. The ma...

Re: US dollars - small denomination notes

Does anyone know a forex bureau in Paphos that will change euros to dollars and give me some notes in small denominations, such as $1, $5 and $10 notes. I need this for travel, and Hellenic does not have small-denomination notes, even if you order them months in advance. Thanks. Some years ago one ...

Looks like Elon Musk has lost his mind ...

I just wonder if you can post whatever you want on social media because you are rich like Elon Musk without getting punished. This one of him is way over the top and dangerous. He's lost his marbles i think. "A Trump supporter and the CEO of Tesla, Musk wrote on Sunday: "And no one is even...

Who felt the earthquake last night near Paphos 4.9

I woke up last night, just after 12.30, because my bed was shaking and cupboards making funny noises. I switched lights on and went to the bathroom when i saw that the lamp in the bedroom was still swinging. In this case it must have been a bigger tremor which was confirmed in the press. Here a imag...

The warmest July night temperatures ever....

It is also what i realised and measured at my place in the Paphos hinterland, sea level 450 m, that the night temperatures since June are much higher than the the past years. (many times 30c all night) I don't mind day temperatures are high in a Cyprus summer, but at night i could not cope without a...

Just flicked through different webcam images and realized that the only clouds in Cyprus one could see were in Paphos, (webcam Tsada).
Not very often in August though....

Re: Where The Locals Go

Most of these Cypriot holidaymakers are not from the Paphos district, but mainly from Nicosia area and the other districts. Also Turkish Cypriots who lived before in that area, which you can recognize on their different car registration number. It would be really great if one day the Paphos to Polis...

Re: Where The Locals Go

Have visited the Anassa & was impressed although a tad out of our budget but nice to know that the Island caters for all visitors pockets Well, the Anassa was for a long time THE place in Cyprus to go for celebrities, specially from GB. Sir Paul McCartney recently stayed at the hotel along with...

Mind the vipers

Minutes ago my landlord showed me a huge venomous snake he had to kill as it attacked him when he stepped on it while giving his donkeys water out of a barrel and his attention was not on the ground. The viper was ca 1.30 m long, quite fat and a thin tail end. (the typical Cypriot blunt-nosed viper)...

Re: Fish lunch today in very hot condition... pics

After a lot of food at lunchtime I have always problems to stay awake in front of the TV, whatever program is on, i miss it. Sometimes more than one hour. I must admit that most of my calories i get from food at lunchtime. It is my only big meal a day as i am still on time restricted fasting. (16/8)...

Re: WATER!!!!

Are there specific reasons for the water supply problems in these 2 villages? Both areas have reservoirs/tanks which are filled from Paphos mains supply. Are you sure about that? I thought Peyia got its water from Kannaviou Reservoir. The pipe runs near our house. A few years back a bulldozer burst...

Food looks lovely. Out of curiosity, why is harpoon-caught better than line or net?
When fish are harpooned, they die more or less the same moment. However when they are suffering for hours in a net before they are killed they have a lot of stress....(I got that info from fishermen.)

Fish lunch today in very hot condition... pics

Looking at my thermometer which showed 34 C at 10.30 this morning I was thinking to stay indoors in air-conditioned rooms and cook at home, but then I got a phone call from my favourite fish tavern at Timi Beach, telling me they have fresh Sea Bream just caught... So, i changed my mind and drove dow...

All about carobs... nearly

Today's article in the local press tells us a lot about carobs. However at least 2 things are missing: carob wood is the no 1 wood for Cypriots, when it comes to fire wood in winter with a lovely smell while burning. Second, you will get a fine if you are cutting carob trees without license. Here th...

Aging spots remedies... and Edro III (video)

Quite often I am watching videos for health reasons. So today I found interesting what Dr.Berg, one of the most famous YouTube doctors had to say about Aging spots... Very surprised I was when I spotted the image of the Paphos Edro III shipwreck in that video as well... https://up.picr.de/48527415pb...
