Re: Ex-pat UK Banks to shut Brit accounts due to EU red tape

Given that most banks are now using a two step verification process either to login to an online bank account, make payments or any kind of transaction where a 6 digit code is sent to your registered mobile number and that must be used within a very short timeframe, anyone overseas who no longer ha...

Re: Ex-pat UK Banks to shut Brit accounts due to EU red tape

Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and the Netherlands have been all affected, especially during the past few years (account holders other than Barclays that has its own timescale). Most receive a letter a few months in advance of the planned closure but others have only been given 60 days.

Cyprus President refers two bills on VAT reduction to Supreme Court

Appreciate this topic has been discussed previously but felt it was worth a new and separate heading. “After receiving the opinion of the Attorney-General on the matter, the President has referred to the Supreme Court two legislative texts voted by the House of Representatives concerning the reducti...

Re: Ikoagora(Cycleband) is moving to.....

I did a big shop earlier in the week as I find it difficult to visualise everything currently on display fitting into the new store but anticipate the layout will be different to the former Euro shop in order to maximise the available space.

How much are they charging per kWh nowadays?
Inclusive of all charges my bill dated 14 July works out at 0.37 cents per unit.
I just divided the amount payable by the number of units used (not concerned about the breakdown in costs).

Re: Doctor/Dentist visits - Safe Pass

Thanks for the replies so far. The doctor office where I enquired about an appointment said I would need a Safe Pass or a negative Rapid test. Does anyone know if these Rapid tests can be done at home or do you have to go to a chemist? And does the chemist have to swab up the nose or can a person r...

Re: Some streets in Chlorakas look like a dump

Surprisingly quite a few apartments have been sold in that area over the past 3-4 years which makes it even more disappointing that the new owners have not made an effort to solve the problem. There was not a green bin there originally, so the first step would be to remove it and clean up the area. ...

Re: Electricity Bills

Just received an estimated bill this morning for the period up until 14 July - I think the accounts department just picked a number at random because the actual units used according to the meter reading I have taken this morning are less than half their figure. Payment is due by 24 August.

Anticipate the area surrounding Polis Municipality will develop new areas where people will dump their unwanted items as there is a new household collection recycling system within the municipality and many people used to come from outlying areas to use the recycling bins which have been removed.

Perhaps worth contacting a Funeral Director as they would have a list of companies that could do this.
For example, Angel Guardians Funeral Home. Phone: 26 222 993.
