I expect yours is made from steel, go to a steel fabrication shop with your old one and ask them to replicate a new one. I know there is one on the Mesogi industrial Estate, google steel fabrication shops and find one close to yourself, seems like a good idea. I think that you live in Giolou so, he...

Re: Electric Cars - Caveat Emptor

This thread started regarding the big drop in second hand prices of used EVs. It now appears that Hertz are adding to that and are going to replace 20,000 EVs with ICE cars.

That's how the internet works these days. Posts get shared on different sites, and some go viral. People who can accurately predict how to make viral content tend to end up very wealthy. And here was me thinking that it was my outstanding choice of topic, my sharp and dazzling delivery , my quick w...

The main reason that the Chinese are buying EVs is the fact that they are cheaper than ICE cars. The government is ploughing in huge sums of money to promote them. Only one manufacturer actually makes a profit the rest just get a handout to cover their losses. It is a strategy to take over the glob...

Hydrogen is inefficient because it is generated electrolytically. This means that you have to have an electricity supply from some other means in order to produce it, with significant energy losses in the process.I should add that hydrogen from the earth is not proven yet. Suggest that you read the...

Re: Electric Cars - Caveat Emptor

What would worry me about an EV is not so much that it could run out of juice in a traffic jam as the fact that if it did you cannot tow it. Since it has no gearbox it has no Neutral and towing would cause damage . You’d be ok in Cyprus as they use Flatbeds but in many circumstance in other countrie...

Re: Electric Cars - Caveat Emptor

I see that the article mentions the Tesla again, what is it with those cars, that they seem to be the be all and end all for some people? The cars are named in honour of Nikola Tesla a once famous scientist whose specialty was Electricity as with so many geniuses he made a lot of money and could ha...

Re: Electric Cars - Caveat Emptor

I wonder if when Henry ford first built the Model T there were people going round saying they would never give up their horse and cart.. If an EV is cheaper and better than an ICE then why wouldnt people choose to buy them? You could argue that we are not at that stage yet.. But to say "Never&...

If it gets down to freezing you can lose up to 20% of your range say about 50 miles. I don't know what happens if it gets down to sasy minus 10.

If you have an average size EV you can call out the AA If you have a small EV it has to be the AAA

Apparently they don't actually recall the cars they send out an internet patch, which I suspect means that the owners will have to comply with certain conditions. I can see a lot of them being missed. Sorry, that answer begs the question that something in the US needs modification but not elsewhere...
