Re: Car air-conditioning service

Two Cypriot guys on the G'pou Industrial Estate. Very highly recommend. They sort every a/c problem, even when others have failed. That's all they do, auto a/c. Am sure they will be shut for summer holidays at the moment, but you could try them: Stelios 99 498204. Their English is not brilliant, so...

Re: Visa to come to Cyprus

Lincoln Everything I wrote is how it works for TCNs which UK citizens will become after Brexit. Russians have to get visas to come here so why will we be treated differently. The EU has said if there's no agreement we will have to have visas which is a factual statement, not a rumour. Jim However v...

Re: Anti Democracy Remainers (again)

Varky And you believe the UK government😂 Have a look at the second paragraph under Eligibility to vote heading. Another 700,000 plus British Citizens were disenfranchised because they either worked or lived abroad. The only EU Citizens allowed to vote were Maltese, Southern Irish and Cypriots who w...

Re: Visa to come to Cyprus

There has been talk of requiring visas to come to the EU if the UK leaves with no deal. If you have an MEU1/3 will you have to obtain a visa as well on your return if you leave Cyprus for a holiday in the UK? Rumour=scaremongering Lincoln Everything I wrote is how it works for TCNs which UK citizen...

Alan The 1.3 million EU citizens resident in the UK were not allowed to vote. That statement is incorrect. As long as one was resident and had registered you were allowed to vote. Re: Another Remain Loser

Did you actually bother to read the article you posted? It didn't say he didn't lie. It basically said that he's a politician so he's allowed to. One could say that of all politicians even the remainers. However what it did infer was that intelligent people could make their own minds up as to what ...

I learned that the 30,000 Cypriots served in the British Army in WW2, because they were promised independence.
Cyprus was offered independence by Britain in 1916 if they would support the war against Germany, Turkey etc., but the Greek Cypriots were not interested.

How is Theresa May discredited? What yardstick are you using? And where is Boris Johnson's credibility rating on that same yardstick? You have got to be joking if you think that TM was not discredited. Not only trying three times to impose a withdrawal agreement on the UK which handed over so...

Re: BHC at Paphos airport this Wednesday

Also the EU’s present hard line attitude suggests they are very unwilling to re open the previous Brexit negotiations. The EU is quite happy to honour the deal agreed with previous Prime Minister, May. A deal accepted by the EU parliament. But a deal rejected by the UK parliament ....3 times. There...

I am not sure the problem is with Paphos Life. Over the last 10 days I have found slow connections with many of the web sites I visit despite getting over 20Mb when carrying out a speed test. Could be my laptop though which is getting quite full.

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Dominic is right. The UK pension scheme is nothing more than a PONSI scheme (which by the way are now illegal). Individual payments are thrown into a big pot from which pension payments are made. If the government thinks the pot will not be big enough to fork out future payments, because of an reduc...

How is the fact that pensioners get more now than they ever have done be an irrelevance?
Such a comment is an irrelevance to the overall argument if the amount pensioners receive is still not sufficient to live comfortably. I would have thought that was obvious.

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Telling somebody who accuses you of being patronising to grow up doesn't really further your cause. The fact is, you get better a pension than your parents did. Is that not the case? And I mean in relative terms, not just absolute figures, which would be meaningless. As far as a cause is concerned ...

Re: My overal view of politicians.

Stop being so patronising. I am just pointing out some facts. You may not like them, but it is your problem, not mine. Patronising?? Grow up! Maybe you are pointing out facts as they stand at the moment but the facts as you present them hide more widespread problems which you fail even to acknowled...
