Re: Paphos Seafront Storms - The Article

Was down a bit later by Banio, the waves must have been 20 ft high, sadly I observed some idiots standing on the wall by Banio to take pics, in each case they were lucky they weren’t swept out to sea.

An amazing sight to see however, still in my shorts an t shirt ( for now)

Sadly it’s bin.

Now they just need your phone number to accumulate points.

Unless anyone knows anything different……

Re: Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa

The Church was handed over by Bishop George of Paphos (now Archbishop) to the Catholic Parish, who in turn granted access to the Anglican Church. Following the visit of Pope Benedict, it became a major pilgrimage site, with visitors coming from throughout Europe (mainly due to St Paul’s pillar) Foll...

Dominic, great blog once again, but the highlight for me was the sea shots, they were fantastic.

Your pat on the back to yourself was much deserved

At times a reminder, as seen in these images, reinforces our reasons for moving to Cyprus

Also gives us a gentle nudge to start exploring again.

Thanks Dominic

Re: Cyprus Covid cats can receive unused human vaccines

I believe that vaccines are not being used, but tablets, so not unused Vaccines. There is no way I could get my cats to take tablets! Anecdotally, I have 3 friends who have had 3 cats put to sleep, they were extremely bloated, the vets said due to a coronavirus, but they were not tested, so who know...

2022 tax return

I have submitted my 2022 return, but for some reason cannot pay the due amount.

Has anyone succeeded in paying it, if so how did you manage?

I cannot find a way of logging in to the payment portal!!!

You now cannot pay via JCC

Thanks in advance

Re: New annoying popup

It’s extremely annoying, there is no reject all (that I could find) I went to reject individually, but gave up after 5 wasted minutes, there are a multitude of companies to reject.

Is this a permanent feature of the site Dominic?

Re: Cats dying of covid

Apparently the issue is now Islandwide, including Israel and Turkey, very concerning.

The strays we feed are restricted to one area, my concern is for my two precious domesticated cats

Cats dying of covid

Report in the Daily Mail suggests 300,000 cats in Cyprus have died of feline covid, I personally am aware of 2 who were bloated and had to be put to sleep.

I also feed stray cats which have depleted in numbers by half, has anyone else noticed this?

Re: PV question

I must confess, the system was purchased for economic reasons and I was not aware that the EAC could not cope with excess production…….so that being said, I will up my usage to the limit of my production.

I was careful about overusing A/C, not any more.

PV question

It is now a year that my 4kw system went live. In that time the system generated 6.63 MW, 4.94 MW went through the meter, and 2.7MW into the grid…..so I have over 2MW that is unused. My question is, should I be using more electricity? Am I storing too much? I use A/c for heating and cooling, have a ...

I agree with Pete. My system was installed efficiently and promptly, but the admin side was chaotic to say the least, it took months for my application for the grant to be processed, despite repeated prompting from me, ( the staff who deal with the application were sympathetic, but clearly overworke...

Re: Wills in Cyprus

Wife and I made mirror wills with a local Lawyer, we are permanent residents. Once written we insisted it was lodged at the courthouse, ( cost very little) the Solicitor was not happy, as she is not guaranteed future possible exorbitant fees, but had to comply with our wishes. When the inevitable ha...
