Re: What is classed as a chronic illness in Cyprus

Having a little knowledge of this.... Type 1 is the testing regime/insulin injection/pump version that can be very serious, often starting at birth or young age. 10% or less of Diabtics have Type 1. Type 2 most often occurs in adulthood and is much more prominent now than ever, mainly due to lifest...

Re: What is classed as a chronic illness in Cyprus

Thank you to the last four posters but i think you have mis-understood what I was asking. I wanted to know what the legislation in Cyprus decreed was a chronic illness with regards to qualifying for a medical card. I am unable to find a list which is quoted under Table 6, Part I(B) of Regulation 8. ...

Re: What is classed as a chronic illness in Cyprus

Easiest way to diet here in the UK, when you're a healthy 6ft tall male weighing 14 stone and want to reduce your weight to slightly under 10 stone, is to fight an HMRC full-blown Tax Investigation over a 4 year period, like I did... Cheers- AL (still 64kg) Blood hell, thats a bit drastic, one thin...

I did not mean to be rude boro886. No I do not have Diabetes but my husband does and unlike you he is overweight. I am not saying that everyone can be cured because everyone is different but I am saying what my husbands specialist tells him and certainly when he is very very good his blood sugars a...

Re: What is classed as a chronic illness in Cyprus

Well thank you Poppy I will ask my consultant to contact you and discuss, he clearly doesnt believe that it is as easy as you say to reverse the condition. I am 6ft 2ins and 14 stone so not over weight. I have had the condition for 9 years and have eaten healthily since and still on medication, so e...

What is classed as a chronic illness in Cyprus

I was hoping someone might be able to answer the above. I have type 2 Diabetes and in the UK it is classed as a chronic illness. I have seen mentioned that in Cyprus that sufferers of a Chronic illness can apply for a medical card. Is Diabetes therefore a chronic illness and if it is does it give yo...

Re: registering for tax in cyprus

It is very simple to deregister from the UK tax system and register on the Cypriot side, indeed if you are resident here you are legally obliged to. Also the NHS is a residency based system so I am afraid as a UK Expat, resident in Cyprus , you are not entitled to NHS care, but if you move back aga...
