Re: Showers and thunderstorms forecast today and over weekend

No rain today (Sun) in Anarita but had a really heavy shower yesterday afternoon. I went for a walk down at the harbour and could see storm clouds gathering over the hills. Rosemary stayed at home and thought I would be getting soaked. On the way back, around 5:30pm the roads were wet from the Ayia ...

We got all our LED light bulbs from IKEA. Very cheap and worth getting if you are going over there.

Re: Immigration today (Weds 23/10/19)

Dee, when we got our ticket the guy behind the counter had no idea whether it was for MEU1 or 3. Most people in the queue were applying for MEU3 and they were in the inner office the same length of time as us. We were lucky today but are grateful to this site for warning us what it could be like so ...

Re: Immigration today (Weds 23/10/19)

Edited to include another category: the people who own holiday homes in Cyprus who are registering for MEU1 status in the lead up to Brexit so they're not limited by the proposed 90 days in 180 days visits if they do not have MEU1. [/quote] We went today for our MEU1 's. Arrived 7:15am and the queue...

We watched it last night on Amazon Prime. Brilliant game and very close. Could have gone either way but he really dug in at the end. He was extremely emotional. Just as an aside, we watched it on catchup as it was on at the same time as the Liverpool game. Glad I did not log in yesterday afternoon a...

When I am walking around the coast, a lot of locals just use bread, and nothing else. They also use it as ground bait.

Just in case of a no deal Brexit, we have just got our International Driving Permit 1949 from the main Post Office. It looks like a ration book.

We met someone who had been told that they had residency years ago when they first bought here, and thought it was still valid. They are swallows, like us, but do stay for over 90 days in a 180 day period, so, officially, might need a visa. Our present cycle of stays is over 90 days in 180 for the f...

Re: Airlines, how can they fall for this?

Use see it regularly on the Manchester Paphos EasyJet flight when it was free seating and a fight to get on the plane first to get the best seats. Not seen it now that seats are allocated as often the disabled passengers are loaded last. However, I had this situation happen the other way. When I use...

Thanks Trev. Mouse working brilliantly now. I'll bring the new one out to Cyprus and use it on my Surface Pro. It was only after I managed to update my Acer Aspire laptop to Windows 10 that the problem with the mouse appeared and I assumed it was something to do with the new operating system. Just d...

I am using an ancient Microsoft wired mouse at present which, since I managed to update this laptop to Windows 10, does not scroll correctly on the mouse wheel. Getting a new logitech wireless one tomorrow from Amazon, only £6, plus free delivery with Prime.

Re: Brexit - No deal and the implications.

There are huge shortages in nursing and the care sector. I get notifications from an NHS for Europe page and have read about thousands of nurses going back to their own countries, not specifically because of Brexit but because of the huge increase in the levels of racism in the UK. Our GP surgery is...

Re: Archbishop: "We will build the hotel either next to the ancient

The developers were quite aggressive to so called trespassers when they first arrived on site and erected the fence near the main road and the fence near the church. They tried to stop me from walking near to the coast earlier in the year and I stated I had a right to walk 50 metres from the sea. No...
