Blood tests at Paphos General.

My brain seems to have turned to mush. When I go to the General for blood tests (I have the sheet from the doctor), do I have to register at the main reception, and get the strip of stickers? Or do I go straight to the blood test reception for my blood phials? I know I have to stop off at the stamp ...

Re: You couldnt make it up.

That's what happens when you "outsource" local authority responsibilities with the targetry and financial gains for the private company. If he had been a council worker, it is likely he would have just told her not to do it.

As HIC says, a car is essential. Don't even think of staying there without one.

Re: tricky question?

To answer your question, I would say the area of Paphos town on either side of "Polis Road" would fit the bill. No Brits, no tourists, no holiday villas, no pools. Just Cypriots (and a few others) mainly in Cypriot-style bungalows on residential streets. Banks, pharmacists, veg markets, supermarkets...

Re: Staysure travel insurance

I have just taken out travel insurance through Status Insurance. The policy is with Citybond and gives me 5,000,000 euros cover for a one month trip at a cost of 135 pounds (excluding usa etc). Not bad given that my heart is covered even though I have had a bypass. My wife, who is younger, has been ...

Bank accounts and transfers to UK.

I have an offshore current account with Nat West, who are being extremely difficult when it comes to be confirming my identity. I have been with them a number of years, and have supplied a number of certified documents etc. Yet they reject them for a variety of reasons. All for an account with a few...

Re: Dark (not lager) beer

Some of the Bulgarian and Romanian beers are a bit darker than the Cyprus ones, and very good. They often come in 3 litre bottles from the Bulgarian and Romanian shops. Ask the staff for recommendations. Relatively cheap too.

Re: New health service

The new system worked well for me this morning. Had an appointment with the Cardiologist at 9am, so went to my GP first for a referral note.(£6). Also obtained a note from my GP for repeat prescriptions, and took it to my usual Pharmacist. Apparently you can use any Pharmacy displaying the GESY sig...

Re: Meu 3 yet again(sorry)

To clarify, EU citizens get an MEU1 (no expiry date) to start with. Their non-EU dependants get an MEU2 (valid for 5 years) to start with. After 5 years both can apply for an MEU3. This has no expiry date for EU citizens, 10 years validity for non-EU dependants. After 7 years (or 8 depending which g...

Re: Meu 3 yet again(sorry)

If you have a MEU3 and are not an EU citizen, then it will have an expiry date that is 10 years from date of issue. If you are an EU citizen, then it will not have an expiry date.

Re: The Ugly side of The Brexit party stirring Racial tensions

Whereas Farage says he is not anti-immigration as such, although he does heavily qualify that stance at every opportunity. His party (whether UKIP or Brexit) does attract those who definitely are anti immigration, anti foreigner, and racist. That is not to say all Brexit Party supporters are describ...

Re: Beautiful but can see an accident will happen

If you remove all hazards from the local environment, then you will be left with nothing. The water feature is fine. If kids fall in (and they haven't yet) then tough. Kids fall over all the time, and that is part of their learning.
