Thank you, I have emailed the ministry of health to get legal clarification as we don’t fancy a massive fine.

Maximum Seating per table restaurants.
Has anyone seen the government legislation concerning maximum of 10 people per table now obsolete? Looked through everything on the government sites and not mentioned even though it has been published in the Cyprus Mail. This is the latest government release but only shows increase of persons allowe...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
Both of you, agree to differ. Dee, if you resent how WHL talks about you, don't talk about him. WHL, if you have told somebody once you have no idea why they live here, there's no need to say it again. For what it's worth, Dee, I think you can be overly critical of Cyprus at times, and WHL I think ...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
Hi Andros That's terrible. Can only agree with you. Didn't know that previously. Wonder will anything change in the way that rape cases are viewed here? This attitude is something which all young girls should be aware of,especially, young, female visitors... Dee Hi Dee There is a possibility that i...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
Hi Dee, At least the authorities have done some good by jailing someone for abuse which took place in 1986 to 1987! The sentence still isn’t long enough in my opinion but I am sure this will be life changing for him and will hopefully bring some peace to the young lady who was subjected to this terr...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
Andros, What a sensible post.I remember at least one case where a young girl was abused for years my her ‘Uncle’ who sometimes was the babysitter. It happens sometimes in local families but is usually ‘hushed up’ and stays within the family. Mostly the victims are far too scared to go to the police...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
Hi Dee the accused should not have the right NOT to be cross examined, when a young lady has had the courage to stand up to her abuser to be persecuted by the law system is enough to cause severe distress especially when they find out that their abuser has the right to remain silent. What this girl ...

Re: Government says it will not interfere over rape claim guilty verdict, protests planned
This poor young lady will suffer for the rest of her life my heart goes out to her and her family! A similar thing happened here a few years back when a young lady finally confessed to having been sexually abused by her stepfather. She was treated like a prostitute by the police and went through a t...

Definitely something else going on here. The Muchta in Argaka has done so much over the years and very highly respected by all the community. He is always organising beach clean ups and is setting up a recycling area. Schools, playgrounds, pavements and so much more been done and any problems are so...

Re: First time: Marbled spinefoot for fish lunch
OMG Max, I remember Latchi from back in the 60s when the now tavernas were carob stores and there was a wooden pier. There was a lovely fisherman there with blue or green eyes who used to dive for sponge. Lovely childhood memories. I think he took us on his boat once but my memories are vague on thi...
