Re: Travel insurance for the elderly.
Try Top Quotes, Chlorakas. They arranged my travel insurance. As no doubt you know insurance premiums for senior citizens are loaded specially for travel to USA, but a lot depends on your state of health and any pr- existing health conditions.

Re: COVID RESTRICTIONS
I had an appointment at St George's last week. I rang the specialists secretary to enquire. No test required she said. But they like you to wear a mask. Seems as if different hospitals have different rules.

Re: Biometric Card - 2026
Fishbeardsunset, it sounds as if you, having arrived after the UK's Brexit agreement, have come here under different terms to many of us who have been living here previously ( before Brexit) as EU citizens. If this is so then the subject being talked about on this post may not apply to you.

Re: Biometric Card - 2026
Has anyone noticed that since Brexit, our status as EU citizens is past? We have become 3rd world citizens. Thus every time one needs to go to a Govt office, procedures to upgrade any document have become more complicated? As I do sometimes want to travel to other EU countries its worth keeping up w...

Only just seen your latest post, Devil. I found this latest one really fascinating to read. You must have had great powers of observation as well as an amazing memory. I have been fortunate to have been to most of the places that you wrote about. I first visited Kyrenia in 1968, driving there with a...

Re: NHS cover on visit to UK
Polemi Ian,
I DID initially ask the Citizens service centre about getting this card, the reply was we don't issue these to British Citizens. I was told to apply to the UK.
I resent your other quite un necessary remark.

Re: ETIAS timeline
I think that an MUKW1, like the MEU1 before it, is only supposed to last for 5yrs. What you should do now is to Apply for the MUKW3 - which lasts for 10yrs.... Like you I am not clear whether the MUKW3 will be accepted at all EU borders, once UK residents are required to obtain ETIAS visas. Wonder i...

Re: Tsada/Olympus Village
Even if you don't actually use spell checker, my tablet seems to have a type of predicted text- (which unfortunately I don't know how to disable). This can change a word in a sentence so as to change the meaning which I had intended. Very annoying.

Re: New Bus Station Finally Opens!
I passed it too this morning, noted how many buses were parked there. Like previous poster I also noticed a couple of busses in the loading area with a-number of people milling about near there. Wonder if there are route signs to help passengers to find the right bus stop? Someone told me that buses...

Re: Akamas Road Update
From what I've read in the Cy Mail its some villagers who want to have a hand in exploiting its tourist potential. Think perhaps cafes, kiosks, restaurants, public loos etc at Lara.... never mind the poor turtles.... the road improvements so far look fine, will make access much easier for all kinds ...

Re: MUKW3 and Driving Licence Question
Actually as someone who has used Gwenny's over the years, I can only say that some people don't mind putting in the leg work and don't mind hanging about in immigration, do it themselves. But it is also possible to have problems with immigration and people get sent away because they didn't bring all...

Re: NHS cover on visit to UK
I applied to the UK for an EHIC card last year but was told I wasn't eligible unlessI I had a UK address. Blame Brexit. However I have been told that the NHS will provide emergency care, but bearing in mind the curren t state of the NHS and the very long waits for anything concerning health treatmen...

However, to actually get it, you may be asked to,provide a UK address, when your application has arrived in the UK. Since Brexit some procedures have changed.

Anything to do with residency is done through an appointment with Paphos Immigration. Or for help with both these forms try Gwenny's Red Tape 26 945624. Its an agency which specialises In helping expats obtain all the Govt required forms and licences. It isn't free, but if you would like a bit of he...

You should be able to do this at through the Citizens Advice Centre. You will need to make an appointment. They should also tell you what documents you will need to bring with you.

Re: Excitement at Troodos peak?
Agree with you! I don't see any reason to go there. It must have been cold, slushy/muddy and probably slippery as well. Also too foggy to see any views.
Probably some don't bother to check the weather forecast!
