Living in the east of the island, whilst it may have been quite a month or two back the local beaches are mobbed at the moment. Not that many Brits as far as I can tell, but plenty of Russian speakers and of course the summer shutdown mobs from Nicosia.

Re: Pachyammos Beaches

I had a similar experience a couple of years back when a fish, assumed at the time it was a Barracuda, tried to bite off a dolphin shaped metallic logo on the side of my swimming trunks. I saw the fish approach and it quite forcefully bumped into my hip before I cuffed it.

Re: What happened to the Boris posts

Yes if I recall correctly we had to have Council of Ministers approval to purchase our house and that took about 2 or 3 weeks only. Just did the old Alien registration and got the brown book with the famous "pink slip" receipt. Eventually the system said we needed to apply for MEU1 which was easy en...

Re: What happened to the Boris posts

Settled here before Cyprus joined the EU and don't recollect complaining about the effects of Brexit to date. Lucky enough to be in a position not to let any possible side effects bother me. Not really interested in the impact of online purchasing on my life. If I want something from Amazon then I b...

Re: What happened to the Boris posts

What i would like to see happen is, when a MP decides to change their party allegiance, for example they have been voted by their local electorate to be Conservative MP for Snottyland that if they decide to jump ship and become an Independent or worst case a Labour MP that they lose their seat in th...

Re: Post office

My experience has always been that when collecting goods from for example outside the Eu that you have to have a sales invoice. The value of the goods on the outside labels does not normally reflect the value of the goods inside. NCV, no commercial value or a notional value such as €5 might be writt...

There are a fair number of Land based snails which look like they are actually periwinkles or similar. They are not from the sea and are genuine fresh water based. So probably remnants from the heavy rains and as is their habit they climb up. The small White shelled snails are very common across the...
