Re: Vaccination against Covid-19 in Cyprus kicks-off in Limassol (photos)

A few people I know are like me - retired but not over pension age and don't pay social insurance so not paying into Gesy as living on a private pension. I do wonder whether/how we will be catered for if you have to be registered with Gesy to get the vaccination?

12v tyre inflator/mini compressor?

Hi all, anyone know where I can pick up a 12v tyre inflator? The kind that plugs into an electric socket in a car.

I too wanted to see if archery was something I might like to take up but couldn't find any up to date info at all.

If you do get anywhere, grateful if you could let me know too?

Cheers

Its something we've planned for years so wont be giving up quite yet. If we knew what was happening regarding residency after 31st it would be easier. Might leave it couple months till things little clearer then maybe Nov come out and rent for awhile whilst looking for a home. I think it is the res...

Re: Health insurance companies

Many meds that are on prescription in the UK are available over the counter here. However, where a prescription is necessary, I believe a UK prescription isn't recognised. I suggest, if you need one, take your UK one to a doctor, explain the situation, and ask for a local prescription. Is there a l...

Re: Ryanair refunds

Compare the difference. We were due to fly out on holiday 8 June with Jet2. Couple of weeks ago they informed us that the holiday had been cancelled and they would be in touch. They've just phoned my wife today to see what we want to do. She asked for a full refund as next time we fly to Cyprus it w...

Re: Kiln-dried oak firewood

As a matter of interest, is there a supplier of different woods suitable for a pizza oven and/or BBQ smoker? I'm thinkings woods like, Cherry, Apple, Lemon etc. Oak is ok but does give quite an overpowering smokey flavour and sometimes I want a subtler taste.

Yes, I agree with you to a degree Lloyd. But there are still a lot of people who aren’t good with computers , particularly, but not exclusively older people. It is also quite depressing to see all the empty shops along the high street in towns in the UK. The internet is useful for ordering some thi...

Re: Road/circulation tax on a double cab?

I can't understand how the UK is cheaper, 4 years ago I bought a Qashqia in Cyprus it was about 20% cheaper in Cyprus and had a much higher spec. I nkow. The original idea was to do exactly that as it was cheaper with better spec to buy new in Cyprus. Its just that the deal on this particular vehic...

Re: Road/circulation tax on a double cab?

Yeah, from chatting to a few car people when we were over last week and reading the Ministry pages, the 6 months/6,000km rule is still applicable, hence looking to get something now if I am bringing something over.

Road/circulation tax on a double cab?

Hi All, I've got the opportunity to get a brand new Nissan Navara Double Cab pickup. Its a 2.3l diesel with emmissions of 235g/km and even with transport costs is much much cheaper than I could get in Cyprus (by 5-6,000 Euros) and so will be looking to bring it when we move over next year as my pers...

Re: Ministry publishes ‘no deal’ Brexit guide for Britons living in Cyprus

This seems to confirm that there will likely be no transition period for those of us who won't be resident in Cyprus by the time the UK leaves the EU. "UK citizens, who want to come to Cyprus after the date UK is leaving the EU, will need to adhere to Cyprus immigration rules/policy." Give...

They are paid out of the Public Purse so in that respect, they are Crown Employees but are not subject to the same terms and conditions as Civil Servants (ie they don't abide by the Civil Service Code of Conduct).
