Re: Vacuume cleaner advise please.

In my experience (domestic and work-wise) you cannot beat a Henry, by Numatic International. I'd be very surprised if these are NOT sold in Cyprus. And price-wise, they are well within your budget! Very powerful, quality tools and SS pipe, long reach, cheap hepaflow bags. They are what the cleaning ...

Re: Local Honey

I used to buy large jars of honey from the Sunset Taverna in Agios Georgos (sadly, now closed) to bring back to UK. Wifey loved it.

It was from Tremithousa and is probably available from the kiosks along the road from Coral Bay out to AG, as well as in Tremi of course. Jacs?

Supermarket online home delivery

Do you have this luxury service available over there in Cyprus? If so, and you use such a handy resource, I'd like some advice, please. Here in UK, I'm thinking of giving Tesco a free one month trial for free next day home delivery ordered on Mon-Thu. But one aspect worries me, that of frozen food i...

Re: Asian cuisine

Hopefully, the large fish in the Ganges are caught in the higher reaches of this major river, after it has flowed down from the snow-capped Himalaya mountain range. I noticed that Nisha seemed to growing a bit larger in each episode. Not surprising, considering the amount of curries and desserts she...

Re: The Secret Life of Landfill: A Rubbish History

Agreed! Just watched it and found it very thought provoking. Made me happy about the miniscule amount of general waste that I dispose of in our black wheelie bin every month or two.

Thanks, Devil- AL :)

Asian cuisine

A few days ago, a member gave us a headsup about a series on BBC TWO focused on cooking from the sub continent. I cannot now find the post in order to reply to it... However, it's on BBC TWO catchup (via the BBC iPlayer) and is called "Recipes that made me" by Nisha Katona. So far, I've th...

Perhaps they should carry such an exercise weekly especially around the various preferred fly tipping spots ...especially at the hairpin bend you find at the top of every ravine up in them thar hills! Pull over and take a look down. You won't believe the amount of junk deposited on Mother Nature's ...

Re: Feta Cheese Pie

This looks reall yummy! Though I don't think I'd be able to resist the temptation of transforming it into a kind of Quiche Lorraine dish...

Shortcrust pastry base, diced bacon and tomatoes in the cheese filling. Perhaps even finely sliced red or green chillies on top...

NordVPN

Just browsed the NordVPN ad banner here on PL. If you are considering a VPN (or changing your existing one), NOW is the time to strike! They have a 3 year special offer that costs just $99 (€86) paid in one lump. The 30 day money back guarantee still applies, and this price represents a 77% saving. ...

Mens wet shaving

We've been through this topic a few months ago, but something has cropped up that I wish to share with fellow UK-based male members. Growing tired of the cheapo Tesco twin-blade razors (not a close shave, and quick to blunt), I searched their site for something more superior. I think I struck gold! ...

Re: Sorry,MEU3 again.no need to panick??

Surely the old MEU1 (yellow slip from Cyprus Immigation) is a pre-2004 requirement, before Cyprus joined the EU? After that, EU 'Freedom of Movement' rules would have applied, with no bureaucratic forms to fill in locally. So how does anyone work out that a UK citizen who has lived in Cyprus for the...

Don't worry about that rat in your garden, Aphrodite. That 2M long black snake that also lives in your garden will soon be eating the rat for breakfast!
